Disappearing Theme Image on Output

Right off the bat I will own this error one hundred percent but for the life of me, I can't figure out how I screwed up. It happened during a text comparison of two album settings files and replacing parms from the "good" album to the "problem" album so I have no doubt it's on me.
The problem is in both albums, the Theme Image is missing in the output files leaving a blank space with the Title centered. BTW, these are Tiger albums.
This happens even though the correct image displays under "Theme Image" on the far right of the Explore page. The Thumbnail selection above does generate in the output, FWIW just not the theme image.
I have always kept the various theme image (PNG) files in the same folder as the images but Exclude them from generation. I've used this method for as long as I can remember and am now quite stumped as to how I disabled it so any help from the experts would be much obliged and TIA.

Copying your "newer" settings, and choosing a PNG theme image, then excluding it from the gallery, I get a normal album. Theme image present in the output as folderimage.jpg, theme image showing in the album, but title to the left, not centered.

Thanks for that, Jeff and as it happens, I had the same result on my own "test album," i.e., normal JA behavior but there is/was a memory leak on my main two albums but no luck on the main two albums.
However, your 39.2.2 core update SEEMS to have fixed the leak when running Make on both of them as I was able to get two successful Makes this morning so thank you, thank you, thank you.
Unfortunately, neither album still doesn't generate a chosen theme image and no respective files in the output folders which is baffling to me as I've never had issues with theme images before. I drag a photo to the Theme Image placeholder on the right side of the main screen and they have always appeared correctly until now.

For Tiger > Site > Hero > Background image, make sure you've chosen something other than None.

David's core update. Nothing to do with me. I don't work here.

Found the problem and, as usual, it was "operator error." My theory is that when I was using Rob's "alphabetically sort" two Settings files" uber clever searching routine, I confused the two lines that had different parameters and changed the right one to the wrong one. In this case, that parm was Tiger/Site/Hero/Background image/ "None". Once I swapped that for "Random Image" and did another Make, PrestO ChangeO I had theme images again.
And sort of on that subject, I must admit to being a JA user who sometimes get the vocabulary wrong. But I'm guessing that what ten random people would name a certain, specific "thing" would vary a good bit and I believe that has been a part of the problem for me, i.e., my brain automatically gives a name to said "thing" but it's completely different than the established JA dictionary, that is Rob's most excellent "Glossary of Settings and terms", names said "thing." BTW, is this doc available in PDF or text format at the site? I appreciate the online HTML Rob but having the entire file available locally for quick searches is my preferred way of staying up with the vocabulary. grin

I forgot to add a thought I had..
Why not change the name of the field in Tiger/Site/Hero/ from "Background Image" to "Theme Image"? Or, change the Theme Image window on the right of the Explore page to "Background Image"? Just a thought.

No, no, it's not operator error. You've simply been visited by the App Trolls™, who have claimed yet another victim.

You'd have to take that up with Laza. But that's a long-running confusion. Internally, the jAlbum ThemeImageProcessor() method, by default, creates a file called folderimage.jpg. And Laza routinely refers to it as the "hero image." Not to be confused with folderimg.jpg, which is something else. Oh, wait - those two are always confused.
In my skins, it's always the "theme image," and the file is always ja-theme.jpg.

Jumped the gun, obviously and I can answer my own question..Once I saw the background image changing in a Make Preview, I knew.
My OG memory is leaving the area faster than the techie billionaires are leaving Cali but, I don't remember this background image drop down, especially so many choices. I'm guessing that I set it correctly for my needs years ago and I never fooled with it until I did the Settings files comparison. At least that's my story and I'm stickin' tuit. :=)
BTW, after seeing a few errors in the system console the past few days regarding .avif files, I have decided to go back to JPEG for the time being until the new format bugs are worked out.

No offense Jeff, but your reply gave me quite a chuckle..but it kinda goes back to what I said earlier, our brains come up with the names for "things" that often are totally different than the next person's idea. No doubt the English language and vocabulary bear some responsibility.

You could of course use the ‘Import Settings from’ to just ensure a project has the exact same settings as a previous project, or even do a save as default and keep all settings the same.
The compare technique is good for finding differences, but as you found out, you need to be sure you’re copy and pasting the right way round.
…Rob's most excellent "Glossary of Settings and terms", names said "thing." BTW, is this doc available in PDF or text format at the site? I appreciate the online HTML Rob but having the entire file available locally for quick searches is my preferred way of staying up with the vocabulary. grin
It could be made available as a PDF but not by me, that would require maintaining two copies of the document. So far, outside of jAlbum staffers and Jeff & myself the number of users contributing to the wiki is zero. But feel free to join us
Two possible ways to get a PDF version.
There is an export function under the ‘Special pages’ menu. It will export defined pages as an XML file, which could be manipulated in an editor and then exported as a PDF. But again, it would require more time and effort than I’m willing to spend.
The other way is to select a page in the wiki, say ‘Glossary A’ then select the ‘Print’ tab, last tab on the right. Then on your device use the print function and choose save as PDF to file (or just go straight to the print function on your device. This is assuming you can print to a PDF file)

Thanks for that, Rob but like you, I think I'll stick with the online manual. <smiling>
"App Trolls" also gave me a good laugh, Jeff.
Unfortunately, memory leaks still appear to be plaguing me and I'll follow up via the original thread.

Forum has been quiet and I got curious as to how much effort it would take. Turns out a rough extract is not too bad - for a one off, anyway.
Try the attached. The html/text version is easy to update as new entries are added and making the PDF is then just printing the file to a PDF. So if you want to keep a local copy update to date just keep checking the WIKI's Recent Changes page and then you can easily see what has changes in the glossary.

Thanks for that, Rob and I see what you mean, pretty simple procedure for both updating and regenerating the PDF. Handy.
