Zip of folder images is broken

I recently switched from jAlbum 37.7 / Tiger 6.12 to jAlbum 39.0 / Tiger 7.3.1.
Since then, when I make an album, the console displays errors such those:
janv. 18, 2026 6:51:39 PM tiger.Zip zipFolder
WARNING: zipFolder: File does not exists: D:\Users\Phil\Mes albums\Web\Tests_Tiger_Org\DSC_0510.JPG
janv. 18, 2026 6:51:39 PM tiger.Zip zipFolder
WARNING: zipFolder: File does not exists: D:\Users\Phil\Mes albums\Web\Tests_Tiger_Org\DSC_0726.JPG
janv. 18, 2026 6:51:39 PM tiger.Zip zipFolder
WARNING: zipFolder: File does not exists: D:\Users\Phil\Mes albums\Web\Tests_Tiger_Org\DSC_9275_D90-r.JPG
janv. 18, 2026 6:51:39 PM tiger.Zip zipFolder

In my album parameters, I have set "Offer to download zip for" to "Scaled images" (and obviously Images setting is set to Scaled images).

In that case, no zip archive is generated and the error messages seems to indicate that the zipping expects to find the images in the root folder, whereas they are located in the slides folder :(

That error does not occur when I offer to download original images.

I don't know if the problem comes from jAlbum itself or the Tiger skin.

If the setting is on one of the Tiger panels, it's almost certainly a skin error.

Moving the thread....

I can't produce the same error, even if I send the output to a location outside of the project directory. There must be something else going on here....

I can't even come up with a plausible theory to explain this error. Please attach your project file - jalbum-settings.jap. Maybe there's a clue in there somewhere.

This error may mean two things:
1. The file is missing
2. Unavailable for reading (e.g., no read rights)

Please check if the folder has the proper permissions! Also, security software might lock the file after it's created. In this case, a repeated Make album might resolve this issue.

Thanks for your feedback, Jeff and Laza :)

@Laza: not a rights problem, since the files in the output folder are generated and accessed without problem. On another side, you said The file is missing, but this in not the case: the images are generated in the slides directory, but the zipping mechanism is trying to retrieve them from the parent directory of slides :(

On the other hand, I can confirm that the problem is caused by a parameter or a combination of several parameters.

I created a minimal project, and there are no errors in that case. When gradually importing the parameters from my usual project, the error appeared at some point, but I haven't yet pinpointed exactly what's triggering it.

I'll continue investigating and keep you updated.

Got it !

This error is triggered only when the setting Pages / Make slide pages is checked!

The jAlbum helps says about this setting ... this is only true for the non-lightbox skins as lightbox skins have their own navigation system. I therefore thought that this parameter was ignored when using Tiger.

The Make slide pages option was checked in my main project, I don't know why, since it shouldn't have any impact. Probably just a leftover of trial and error from testing various parameters :(

Perhaps taking this parameter into account is masking other side effects? It would be great if this were fixed in a future version :)

ETA : This is a regression, as this problem did not exist in version 6.12.2!

I don't think the skin has changed regarding the ZIP functionality, but jAlbum's linking model has changed significantly. Perhaps that caused some of the objects (a custom view?) be linked to the slide page. I think I'll remove the ZIP option from the custom views altogether.

Custom Views is just one of the new additions. (And I have just discovered it's unnecessary to regenerate those ZIPs in those folders.) The attachment mechanism is also new.

I tried to trigger the error by turning "Make slides" on, to no avail, even though this test album contains all the unusual things. Something else is needed to trigger this error.

FWIW, I haven't been able to trigger the error either, even with a lot of "messing about" with the stranger settings like Make slide pages, including the site map, not copying originals if needed, and so on. The zip mechanism appears to work properly every time.

Damn! I can't reproduce the problem with the minimal configuration I used previously :(

I'm giving up for now...

Oh, I forgot to mention that when this problem occurs, no error message is displayed to the user. It only becomes apparent when generating an album with the console already open. :(

Ah, now I can trigger it.

Simple project, with default settings. Choose to offer a zip download of the scaled images. Also check Make slides. It also happens if you check Create "sitemap.xml" and Include slides which automatically chooses Make slides

Now make the album. The warnings show up in the console, and the zip file is not created.

What's confusing is that if you first make the album without choosing Make slides, but then change the setting and make the album again, there is no error. The zip file already exists, and the skin doesn't try to recreate it, and the error doesn't occur. So, to see the error, you must delete the local album before trying to make it again.

I see now. It seems the clouseupPath variable gets changed when jAlbum is processing slides. When the processing comes to the finally.inc, it remains as if we are processing a slide, even though we are processing folders there. I think changing jAlbum's logic is the way to go, even though I could easily fix this in the skin code.
