I've been told it is not possible, but is there any way to change the thumbnails for about, sitemap and contents? I have turned thumbnails off in the web version. Thanks.

(Post split from an unrelated thread.)

Told by whom? If that info came from the jAlbum help desk, you can probably take it as gospel.

ETA: And I'm a bit puzzled by the question. Added pages, like the About page, don't produce thumbnails on the finished album pages. The only place they display is in the jAlbum Explore view, which is visible only to you.

The custom pages produce thumbnails on the Sitemap and Contents pages. I have already replaced the generic icons with specific icons in the Tiger skin, and I'll do the same in my other skins: Photoblogger, Story, and Projector.

Ah, I see.

One of my longstanding feature requests is that the core should allow you to select a representing image for any object. Get rid of the clumsy THM mechanism, which has to be explained to users over and over and over, and which works only for some objects, and most of the "exclude then drag" stuff.

So, for something like a PDF, an MP3, a web page, a folder, whatever, I should be able to navigate to any JPG on my PC, and say, "use this JPG as the thumbnail for this other thing." You should even be able to do it for a JPG. If your JPG object is a pano, for example, you could choose a more normal image to be the thumbnail for it, instead of letting it blow up your masonry thumbnail layout!

I support this feature request 100%.

In general (not for most, if not all, bundled skins), depending on how the skin works, it is possible to change the icon, either in just the album or in the album and the explore view.

The skin must use the jAlbum default icons, not use their own icons or font based icons.
For the album only you just add a png image named the same as the default image, for template page like about, contact etc. you would add your own htt.png file to the project's 'res' folder. For both the explore view and the album you add the file to the skin's 'res' folder instead. Obviously the file would need saving somewhere else and adding back to the skin after any skin update.

This information is just so you know, should you want to use a non-bundled skin that uses the default icons (found within the applications own 'res' folder.
