Issues with thumbnail-page

When building new content within an album, i got a strange behaviour with with thumbnail page.

On the page with thumbnails one can choose whether a thumb should be displayed as thumbnail, as single image or like the hero-image over the complete page.

An example of my album is here: https://glossmann.eu/Reisen_bildert/Spanien/Consuegra/index.html , you find the last image shown as "single".

This does not work correctly in the current version of jAlbum when i create new pages. There are two issues:

1.
The aspect-ratio of the single-image changes to square, but it is 2:3.
2.
And, even worse, the image is not sharp, it seems that it has lost his full resolution.

Even stranger:
On the page https://glossmann.eu/Reisen_bildert/DACH/waldUndWiese/index.html some full-width-images have a crippled resolution, while the 1st one has it's full resolution.

How can i fix such pages?

BTW: I don't know if this belongs to the album or if it's skin-specific. I guess it is general...

The thumbnail aspect ratio in your project is 1:1, not 2:3.

Before we proceed with other issues, please turn off the Settings / Advanced / Process only updated directories and Make the album again. That will fix most of the issues.

Yes, the thumbnail aspect ration is 1:1, as chosen.
But i'm talking of the "single" format. Previews with the attribute "single" ever have been rendered in ther original aspect ration, as you can see on the "consuegra" page, the 1st upper link. This is an old page, which was build correctly, with high resolution "single" and maintained aspect ratio.

Only new build album pages render the "single" preview loosing their resolution and changing the aspect ratio.

I have another example: https://glossmann.eu/Reisen_bildert/Spanien/Madrid/MadridTouristisch/index.html

Here are three previews on the thumbnail page with single-attribute, the titles in bold:

  • Metropolis: Aspect ratio unchanged, high resolution, ok
  • Aussicht auf den Königspalast: Aspect ratio changed to 1:1, low resolution, ko
  • Schluss: Aspect ratio changed to 1:1, low resolution, ko
I have build this page due to a change in text, this caused the effect of loosing resolution and changing the aspect ratio. Before all was fine.

I'm afraid to rebuild the complete album. in this case the delta-upload (smart upload) might not work and jAlbum will try to upload the complete album, which will result in a complete desaster (the ftp-connection to the webserver is super instable, the last full upload needed a couple of evenings under permanent control of the process).

Is this test anyhow possible with single pages? Is there a way to force the complete rebuild of a single page without deactivating +Process only updated directories+?

Thanks for the further explanation! I see why the same error didn't happen in my test album. I will fix this today.

Turning "Process only updated directories" will mess up your album. Users should never use it in JSON-based albums like Story. Regenerating the unchanged directories takes just a few seconds, even in large albums; it's not something you should worry about.

thank's a lot, now the issues are resolved, and there was no problem concerning the upload .
