Have you considered making project groups, instead of using just the recent projects list? It should help to keep your eye on the projects being made, rather than having to scan the full list of recent projects.
I already use groups, I have quite a few. But when you want to make/publish multiple projects located in different groups, in the Multimaker window, the recent projects list is the most suitable IMHO. Otherwise, you will have to go in group A, then select the desired projects and start the make/upload, then go to group B, select the desired projects and start the make/upload, go to group C, and so on.
The other thing that might help is to use a different look & feel, ...
I have to admit that other look & feels display the selection much more visibly than 'jAlbum Dark'. But basically, what poses a problem is precisely that it is the selection which shows what has been chosen to be queued. If you select ten projects and once the make is launched, you click somewhere in the list of projects, you lose the selection and nothing indicates which projects wait to be made. Sometimes even the selection is erased on its own. This has nothing to do with the look & feel.
... or make a custom change to your preferred choice.
I don't understand what you mean by that...
