I have not the faintest idea why this has happened - I have not touched that feature at all, and did not even know it exists - but it is: Exclude!

If you are using the keyboard a lot then you don’t need to use the contextual menu to exclude objects. Any selected objects will be excluded if you press the minus key, maybe you accidentally hit that key with the folders selected.
