You could try
jAlbum combined update tool
As well as doing a normal update it looks for beta updates and any associated $texts files. It does the update just like the built in core update tool. It’s much quicker than downloading and replacing the old file(s).
Rob, thanks for your help. Yes, I'm aware of your tools. But this time I installed the beta version in a complete separate folder, so the usual tools were missing and I was to lazy to fiddle with the file in the Tools folder just for this.
My wish and suggestion to David is, please include Robs tool into your default installation of jAlbum, so every user can grab a core update or a beta update with just
one click. Thanks.
