Hiding home page elements using CSS

See attached picture JAlbumToHide.PNG.

I would like to hide areas highlighted by red border:

1) Whole section that contains Home icon and "Nature", "Architecture", "People", etc

2) "Up one level" icon

I achieved it by putting following CSS in Tiger/Advanced/Custom Code/CSS:

.top-bar .cont {
display: none;
}

.hero header .back-btn {
display: none;
}

The result is in attached file JalbumHidden.PNG

Is this the right way to do it? My concern is that in the future version of the skin the CSS class names can change and my updates will have no effect.

You can hide the top menu by turning off Folders, Pages, and Web locations on the Tiger / Site / Top bar panel.

Hiding the up one level button is not practical, but if you insist on this, you can do that with the code above.

I cannot promise I will never change the structure, but you can always use the Developer toolbar (F12) to find out the proper CSS hook.
