Significance of "Upload Path" setting
Posted: 1 Mar 23, 23:34

I am referring to Tiger/Advanced/Site Admin/Upload Path

I do not specify it at this time and everything seems to work, including sharing on the Facebook. Or maybe it works incorrectly but I don't see a problem.

The problem with specifying it is that if I move album to a different location on my site not only I need to change the link to the album (obviously) but I also need to regenerate the album itself.

Can someone explain what exactly I am missing by not specifying Upload Path?

"Upload path" is the path that points from the site root to your album. It is needed because some social sites need absolute paths for the shared image, and when you generate the album the first time the skin has no idea where the final album will be uploaded. Failing to specify this might result in wrong thumbnails when sharing, but nothing serious, so you can leave that empty if you're not fussy about sharing the dedicated folder image.
