Can't Find Index Page Image Setting Using Tiger

First, I absolutely LOVE both JAlbum and Tiger and add/update two large online galleries nearly every day. Attached is a screen grab of the index page of one of these galleries and my question revolves around the area bordered in red. It is part of the image used to generate the folder thumbnail and I'm wondering if this can be eliminated, making it possible to add another row? I have searched and searched my settings and can find nothing that I see is related to this. Couldn't find anything about the same thing here, hence the post. I would like to just have the top image, gallery title over it, and then the thumbnail rows.
BTW, this gallery is at http://kilobravo.com/gallery-newer/
TIA

Oh, the irony! What you're asking for is, in fact, the normal, default behavior of the skin. You would add that "gated house" image to the project, exclude it (since you don't want a thumbnail or slide image for it), then drag it to the Theme image box. Remove it from Tiger > Site > Functions > Top bar > Logo. And maybe uncheck Tiger > Site > Hero > Design > Full width.
ETA: You will probably also want to tinker with Tiger > Site > Hero > Design > Height, and probably choose Type: Album thumbnail, so the "gated house" will appear on every page.

So very sorry to be the source of the irony but I feel you, JT. Anyway, thanks SO much for the quick response...I THINK I understand the instructions which I will attempt to apply now. BRB.

As usual, I screwed something up. First, could you please help me with,
".. then drag it to the Theme image box"
I am an old DOS type so can you show me where (dir/folder) to copy the image? I couldn't figure out what Theme Box meant...sorry.
I did a make Album after doing all the above except putting the image in the Theme Box and now, instead of the gated house image at the top, it's gone and only the image I wanted to eliminate remains at the top.
I DID find the max width check box...finally..and unchecked. I also set the max width to 1400. Will get to height and width options after I get it working properly again.
I think I need help before I download the lifeboat files and start over...thanks again.

OK, because I had the column very narrow, I have never noticed the "Theme Image" box. Duh...
Regarding the screenshot, for whatever reason, the files in My Albums not only have two other similarly named galleries/projects which I no doubt created way back. BUT, the files in the correctly named folders ALL have dates that are two years old so now I am still confused. I haven't published so as not to overwrite until I get this resolved but attached is a current image of the initial index page.
I did drag the gated house image to the Theme Image, excluded it too, but I still see the sandwiches tn in the "Thumbnail" box. I tried putting gated house there but of course, it only changed the tn for that gallery.

It looks like you've dragged the "gated house" image to the Theme image box in the recent folder. You need to do this at the top level of the project, not in the folders. If you use the settings I recommended, you can just ignore the theme images in the folders - the album will show the top-level theme image at all levels.

When jAlbum copies your images into the project, it doesn't change the dates on the files. Only the date on the project folder tells you when that project was created.

HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN!!!
Of course you were absolutely correct, JT, I DID have the image in the Recent folder Theme Image...double DUH! Now, all is well and all I have to do is make the same changes to my second gallery of older images.

Simply can't thank you enough for troubleshooting this for me, Jeff..really and truly. Best dang photo gallery building software on the PLANET!
Muchas gracias..
