WindowBlinds issue and solution
Posted: 19 Sep 22, 21:36

After upgrading from v23.1 to v26.0 and then finally to v28.1
on Win 10 Pro 64 bit I cannot open and edit my htt files any longer.
Instead a black dark gray rectangle is visible on my screen.
With left mouse button in the top area, this dark window can be moved around.
In addition some setting menus are emtpy and jAlbum does only work in full screen mode.

The problem and solution is obiously with WindowBlinds from stardock.com.
Until v23.1 jAlbum was compatible, but at least after v26.0 no longer.
jAlbum has to be disabled in the WindowBlinds settings. A pitty but not severe.

Best regards

Have you tried changing jAlbum’s look and feel?
A long shot but worth trying if not already done so.

phofrog, can you see if the last version of the "flatlaf" libraries resolves this issue? Just replace lib/*flatlaf* with the following attached files

(you need to remove the "2.3" version files from jAlbum's lib folder and replace them with these 2.4 versions)

Thank you David, replacing the two jar files did help with Windowblinds, but my jalbum dark theme and any other theme did not show any longer. Remaining was just a simple gray theme.

I did not investigate further, because in the settings of WindowBlinds a "Per application" disabling is possible for any *.exe application. In this case jalbum.exe and that is fully OK!

Correct
Ok, perhaps jAlbum 29 (released yesterday) fixes all this.

Yes, with v29 of jAlbum, it is no longer required to disable jalbum.exe in the settings of Windowblinds (WB). The jAlbum theme is also not modified from Windowblinds. Good! BTW, my WB default Mac-like theme is attached as example.
