LUCID skin : Although I ticked the option for a 'up' button it doesn't show on the page.
There's no way for my visitors to return to the home page (or other level).

For the up-arrow to lead to your home page, you have to enter the full URL, e.g., https://jefftucker.net/, under Settings > Pages > Link to external homepage. From folders, it's automatic - see screenshot.

Make sure you refresh your browser cache - CTRL-F5 - when viewing the album.

Yes, a relative URL will also work, if your site is structured that way.

The one that causes problems is entering an absolute URL, but without the protocol, e.g., jefftucker.net instead of https://jefftucker.net/. That makes a mess of things!
