Please make error reporting meanings-full
Posted: 10 Oct 21, 11:40

While making a large album with folders, I get in the console error messages as displayed in attached screen-shot.

You see several lines like:
@@@@@@ : error ending picture

I can't do anything with this types of error message!

So please add the location of the corresponding picture, independent of the Preference setting 'Logging level'.

And please do that for all other type of error messages.

With logging level FINE I get:

Loading I:\Pictures\Oostenrijk\Montafon\2011 07 19\2011 07 19_0062.JPG using subsampling 1
@@@@@@ : error ending picture
@@@@@@ : error ending picture
@@@@@@ : error ending picture
@@@@@@ : error ending picture
@@@@@@ : error ending picture
@@@@@@ : error ending picture
@@@@@@ : error ending picture
@@@@@@ : error ending picture

But this picture casn be displayed without problems in all my Photo edittors, so it is still unclear what the problem is!

Is this a bug in version 25?

Windows 10 jAlbum 25

Edit:
On request a can mail the picture giving problems.

Related information.
This error has previously only been seen with HEIC images and is related to the jDeli library.

The linked post is in the bugs forum, and David is aware of it, so there is no need to move this.
As for error reporting, it has been improved in the past, at your request. If it can be further improved I’m sure David will do so, but external libraries present a problem often beyond his control.

Marked as answered, as there is nothing new here.

The problem is not the same because this is a jpeg image, not a heic image, so this is a new bug.

And I think the original poster should decide whether a question is answered!

Sometimes the OP never comes back and marks the question as answered, even when it has been. And sometimes the OP keeps asking the same things over and over and over and over and over again.

This is why moderators can mark a question "answered."

These points are not applicable here.

If you read my first post, I stated it was a related issue and previously only seen with HEIC images. The two threads have been cross linked.

Locking this thread as it has been answered.
