I will be removing all of the album .htm files from the root as I update each album as they won't be needed any longer. So eliminating the Album folder is no problem. I will replace each .htm with the individual album folder.

Uploading to the server directory structure will then be straightforward.

One question , though, not sure I get "do not try to "name" your index pages".

Got quite a bit of conversions to do in the next week once I have thoroughly tested the converted MyFavorites and RecentAdditions albums <grin>.

Thanks,
Rich LaBella

By that, I just meant that the Wildlife album's top page should be just:

http://rjlabellaphotos.com/Wildlife/index.html

Instead of something like:

http://rjlabellaphotos.com/Wildlife/wildlife.html

Or worse:

http://rjlabellaphotos.com/wildlife.html

It sounds like you're on the right track, in any event. Post back if you get stumped by something.

Finished updating all albums a while back and have been testing on different platforms.
They all work great no matter what the platform - no more scroll bars!

Thanks for all your help

I'm glad it's working, but you've still managed to create some mangled HTML. The first offending line is this one:
<li><a href='https://rjlabellaphotos.com/Favorites/'><font color="#FFCC00">My Favorites</a><font color="#C0C0C0">
The <font> tag isn't valid HTML5, but even if it were, it would have to be closed. What you have now are two unclosed tags, which produces a cascade of subsequent errors.

The fix:
<li><a href='https://rjlabellaphotos.com/Favorites/'><span style="color: #ffcc00;">My Favorites</span></a>
Then there's this line, which fails on multiple counts:
<iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=http%3A%2F%2FRJLaBellaPhotos.com%2FFavorites.htm&width=110&layout=button&action=like&size=small&show_faces=false&share=true&height=65&appId" width="110" height="25" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowTransparency="true" align="right"></iframe>
That one's just loaded with deprecated stuff. But more to the point, it won't work anyway. Planting a Facebook "like" button on your page now requires you to obtain a Facebook App ID:

https://developers.facebook.com/docs/apps/

And then it's planted on the page with a bunch of Javascript:

https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/like-button/

I'm not a "social media" guy, but from what Laza has posted on the subject, I don't think you can do it at all, since you're not a commercial enterprise. To Facebook, you're just an ordinary user. I don't think you can obtain the kind of ID that's needed.

Got it.
Fixing the font color settings, thanks.
I'll drop the Facedbook links, not worth the work and probably will never be used even if I figure it out.

The "Find us on FB" link is fine. The thing that's almost impossible these days is to get a FB "like" icon on your site, especially since FB keeps changing their API. Just when you think you have it working, they pull the rug out from under you again!

I ran into an issue with one album with folders. The logo & FB button do not make it when I open the folders. I do have the res images in each folder, but don't know how to get them recognized in the folder views.
https://rjlabellaphotos.com/2020NOODRegatta,St.Pete/
is correct
https://rjlabellaphotos.com/2020NOODRegatta,St.Pete/NOOD%20Day%201/index.html
is missing the logo & fb button.

Ah, yes. The logos are sitting at the top level of the album, so from a folder, the paths to those logos is going to be different. We need to account for that.

Under Neptune > Code > HTML, the second line needs to be changed to this:
<div id="rjllogos"><a href='https://rjlabellaphotos.com/index.htm'><img class='rjlogo' src='${resPath}/Logo.jpg' alt=''></a><a href='https://www.facebook.com/RJLaBellaPhotos'><img class='rjlfb' src='${resPath}/findus-fb.png' width='110' height='40' alt=''></a></div>
The logo and FB images don't need to be put into each folder - jAlbum will just ignore them there. Create a res folder at the top level, and stash them there, the same way you would if there were no folders in the project.
