David just did help me to fetch the absolute URL of an album, see this thread, however his method delivers an unsecure http: link while jalbum.net supports secure https: links.

Insecure http: links are out these days, they display not only messages like 'Your connection to this site is not secure', but it gives also problems with Facebook share actions, code in iframes, weblocations and these links do get a low ranking with Google search.

So please replace in all jAlbum software links to jalbum.net by secure https: links, not only in the software to get the absolute URL link, but also if after an upload the album is automatically opened on the jalbum server, it should open in that case an https: link. The same holds if you open an album from your jalbum home page and I am sure that there are more places where this should be changed.

Instead of messing around with the links the application coughs up, and hunting down every link on every page of the site, this should just be handled server-side. Try visiting http://jgromit.com and see what happens. In short, you can't get an unsecure session. It's a simple fiddle in .htaccess, but I don't know how jetty handles things like that.

I know that, visit http://www.andrewolff.nl but that has nothing to do with the jAlbum software problems with insecure links as I decribed above.
But jAlbum should also change the server settings so that a HTTP link automatically changes in a https link

We shall look into that. In the meantime, try editing "accounts.xml" under jAlbum's config folder and replace http:// references with https:// or adjust this by right clicking the web root folder and select "Mark as web root".

Yes that helps, after an upload of an album the album is now opened with an https URL.
But if I open an album from my jAlbum home page, it is still opened in http mode.
