i changed the structure of one of my (private) albums from the desktop application. Basically i previously had several folders, now i have an additional folder hierarchy and some new pics. Looks fine in normal internet browser.
But the JAlbum Android App is showing only one folder and only some images, does not reflect the changes and does not show all images. Is there a way to force the app to re-read the album?
Has the album's album.rss file been updated, as well? Take a look at the file date on the server.
That might not be enough, however. In tackling a different problem, I found that the Android app was very stubborn about recognizing changes. It was as if it was caching information, with no way of refreshing the cache. I actually had to upload one album to a different directory on the server before the app would see the changes. See the last few posts in this thread: http://jalbum.net/forum/thread.jspa?threadID=52176
If you are willing to "un-hide" the album in question, I can take a look and see if the app is seeing the new images. (I can see hidden albums on your profile page, since I'm an admin, but I can't see them from the app.)
Is there a way to force the app to re-read the album?
You should be able to "drag-down-to-reload" an album. Drag down from the middle of the album until you get the circular reload icon and then release. The album should then be refreshed so any changes made are now visible.
I use that Android-App too for my private server and I still have some difficulties with data-updates. If I added some pictures or changed names or text, the App will not refresh the changes after the upload. Everytime I have to start chrome first, delete all the browser-cache and then refresh every single foto-folder in chrome.
After that the App ist refreshed too.
Can I achieve the updates easier?
P.S.: The "Generate Media RSS" feed is checked.
I use Chrome 60.0.3112.107 on Android 6.0.1, Samsung tablet.
