When I do that on my Galaxy S7 after a few seconds I get a message that says, "Unfortunately jAlbum has stopped working" and the app closes. Before upgrading to the S7, my older Galaxy S4 did not have this problem.

Yes I did find that in the mean time, but it is a terrible user unfriendly way to do that!

Suppose you are a new customer who did never use jAlbum. He sees in the Play store an App to make web albums. He downloads and installs the App, but after he started the App he can only Explore albums of others, nowhere is any indication how he should create his own album! His next step is to remove the App again from his tablet!

The least thing Anders should do is to give an introduction for users opening the App the first time and add a 'Create album' button on the first screen or add a 'Create album' to the Menu.

The App contains more user unfriendly constructions:

If you open an album made with this App and next opens a slide, it is unclear how to go back to the index page.
Yes I know Anders will say an Android user knows that they should use the button with the curved arrow below the picture, but if I view the album on a PC or on an iPad, there is no curved arrow button available.Anders should make the album device independent by adding the Swipe up or down function to return to the index page on a device with a touch screen interface and on a PC the Arrow up key should bring the viewer back to the index page.

It is also weird that the look of an album on a PC and on an iPad is completely different from the look on an Android device..
Both devices show suddenly a theme image, not visible on an Android device, but the creator can not choose the theme image.

The user interface on an iPad and on a PC is totally different from the user interface on an Android device!

Another user unfriendly way of operation: during the creation of an album, you can only upload one image at the same time! You should be able to select a number of images and upload these all in one go!

Sadly, I'm seeing the same issue on my S7. :(

So nice of you to make me bold. :)

The App contains more user unfriendly constructions:
When using the iOS or Android app, the albums are viewed using native code and always in fullscreen for the slides. There is no web browser involved. But there is a web album generated, so you can view the album on a PC, Mac or in the browser of your phone if you don't have our apps.

The user interface on an iPad and on a PC is totally different from the user interface on an Android device!
You get an Android UI when using Android, an iOS UI for iOS and a web UI when using a browser.

There seems to be a permission issue when using Android 6. We are getting this error:
java.lang.SecurityException: Permission Denial: reading com.android.providers.media.MediaProvider uri content://media/external/images/media from pid=8920, uid=10191 requires android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, or grantUriPermission()
I have to check with the developers how we can solve this.

Yes but if you don't improve this product, I will remove the bold qualification! . ;) ... and you better give comment to my remark!!
You get an Android UI when using Android, an iOS UI for iOS and a web UI when using a browser.
There is no need to do that, a responsive skin does give on all devices about the same view!

And after a year I still see that silly remark 'no caption' under a slide if I look at my own album! You should make your App more consistent by showing in the settings for the whole album the text 'no title' and 'no description' ;)

And I've managed to fix it! Apps > Settings > Applications > Application manager > jAlbum > Permissions > Storage > On.

Pretty good for a guy who had never seen a smartphone two weeks ago. ;)

Ah, great! From zero to hacker in two weeks. :-)

Did you get any permission questions when installing the app?

I know that Google have added the possibility in Android 6 to ask for permissions when needed (like iOS do), instead of asking about all permissions at once when the app is installed. This makes it also possible to deny some, but not all permissions for an app. But I had assumed that the old scheme also worked... and that they would not add new permissions for things that used to be "free".

No. If I had, I would have granted jAlbum open access. But as soon as you said, "permissions," I knew where to start poking around. :)

That is exactly what I did when I saw AnCa's reply about permissions. ;)
