  • HTML5 / CSS Level 3
  • Video and audio support
  • Allow external filter (image effects) support by default, which was disabled in previous versions.

A couple of issues (I was just tinkering....):

The border on a video slide page appears to be applied to the wrong element. See screenshot. The video frame itself is the right size, but the border is being applied to its container div.

A very minor oddball - if you link the "slide image" for a video to an external link, it naturally doesn't work, since the video player itself has focus for any clicks. The custom UI for a video object should probably have the slide image link option disabled. (Ditto for an audio object.)

When using the custom UI to enter a URL target for an image, I'm getting a console error dump. Attached.

It doesn't appear to be doing any harm - the entries are being saved, and nothing is disabled.

I'm not sure why it's choking on saveUI(), but the error message indicates that it's a privilege problem. I don't have problems with it in a compiled UI, but I don't remember how to address it when it's being done in onload.bsh. I'll poke around and see if I can dig it up....

The link pane is a little on the short side (Mac), see attached.

A change from 170 to 200 for the height fixes it for me.

That's an easy one to fix. The onload.bsh is setting a preferred size for the customUI panel, but if it just left it to jAlbum to size it, the size would be correct. If you comment out line 399 of onload.bsh, the panel is sized correctly.

It looks like a nice piece of code, maybe something I could borrow from?

I think that skins that set panel sizes tend to produce unpleasant side effects when you switch skins. It's usually better just to let jAlbum size things as necessary.

"Privilege" was the trigger :-)

Playing around and changing the method from public to private seesm to do the trick
// Make sure changes are saved even if one doesn't move between images
FocusListener fl = new FocusAdapter() {
  private void focusLost(FocusEvent e) {
   saveUI();
  }
};

I had borrowed it as well from David quite a while ago ;-)

Indeed? Which kinds of trouble?

Here's a good example:

  • Install both Matrix and Fotorama in jAlbum.
  • Start a new project and choose Matrix.
  • Open the settings window - notice the layout.
  • Close the settings window.
  • Choose Fotorama and open the settings window - notice the layout.
  • Close the settings window.
  • Now switch back to Matrix and open the settings window. Not pretty, is it?!

The only way to fix it is to close jAlbum completely, re-launch, and go back to Matrix. This is happening because Fotorama explicitly sets the settings window size, and that "sticks."

Odd, because in my compiled routine for Gromit, for example, I do this:
new StateMonitor() {
	public void onChange() {
		saveUI();
	}
}.add(thumblinkURL).add(vidhostURL).add(othervariables...);
Seems to work fine - all changes get saved.

I see. Well, it is a different setting, but anyway ... we never know, and it is certainly not too important for CA2 to explicitely set the link field's size.
