That's heavily dependent upon what kind of folder layout you're using. Looking at the site that's shown on your profile page, you might try this custom CSS:

.folders .foldercard .caption

I've now updated my whole site to remove (most) tildes. It now works OK! So thanks very much for that.

I've added a few files with tildes to my test album and have managed to recreate the problem there. So you might have hit on the solution. I will try removing them from my live site.
