I cannot find image binding option in a new Jalbum version. Where is it?
How to add original photos to be clickable same way as it worked in old version.
Please have a look at image attached.

Yes, I have ticked both, Scalled Images + Originals.
It seems to me, that only button download causes to display original. I wish to click to scalled image and see original. This was default behavior in old version.

If you choose both, the album will contain both scaled images and the originals. What each skin does with them is up to the skin. Some automatically provide a download option for the original. Others require that you choose an option to provide that.
I don't know of any current skin that displays the original when the scaled image is clicked. In modern skins, clicking on the slide image is for navigation (next image, previous image, maybe zooming - depends on the skin), not for displaying other versions of the image.

Thank you for help.
I have noted that Plain skin has download button that shows original. I would like to continue using Plain, but is has no option for 360° panorama to be inserted.
But I cannot find any binding from Tiger skin to display original image. Tiger has "Download" button at bottom, but it does not display image in www browser, it provides image download only. There is no other possibility to show original.
Turtle skin behaves a same way as tiger, but it does not display 360° pano. It can only slightly unroll it.
It is stupid that functionality that worked before 10 years cannot be attained. It should be the most simple operation to point www browser to display original image.

If the link in the button specifies "download," most browsers will prompt the visitor to tell it where it should download the file.
If the link doesn't specify that, what happens is entirely dependent upon the browser, and upon what settings the visitor has specified in his own browser. It might display the image in a new tab, or it might offer to save the file. The skin can't control that.
ETA: The link can specify that the file should be opened in a new browser tab, but that''s generally frowned upon. It takes the site visitor away from your page, and lands him in a spot where there's no navigation present. Web design standards have evolved over the last decade.

That was very helpful function to display image original with one click. I have used it many times to look for glitches in original image.
You can note my album for functionality recall:

once you click to full image you can click again to zoom.
There could be 2 optional buttons in skin, one for download and second for view. I see no danger with displaying unframed JPG. Or the full scale image could be also embedded in html when somebody is paranoid enough and think that this saves his security or whatever else.
PS: Technically you could use html/java wrapper around original that allows zooming and scaling to full window. But it is too much work. I ask only for the most simple and proven solution that works.
It is very helpful to easily see fine details from original in browser. Downloading original and executing image viewer is much more complex. It is useless work.
The nice viewer is already implemented in Jalbum for 360° panos. This viewer does not loos controls.

Yes, recomended zoom might work, but this completelly missed a point.
I want to show downscalled slide, not original. It makes no sense to display original on slide - this wastes e.g. mobile data. But show and zoom in original, when I need to look for details. Showing details from slide is a total nonsense. This worked perfectly without any problem on 10 year old Jalbum now it seems to be impossible. Nobody wants this? It is extremely unpleasant to download image. You must do 3 additional steps - download image, execute viewer and erase image. I understand that intent for image shop is to seal originals behind paywall. I am not selling photos.
See 2 images attached. When patched style and rename "Download" to "See original", www browser is not forced for download dialog and displays original as needed.
PS: This discussion forum also does not allow to see image, it forces user to waste time and save image on disk.

When you click the slide image, it's replacing the slide page with the original image. You can then use the browser's built-in controls to zoom in and out - that functionality isn't being provided by jAlbum or the skin.
But now, when you're done looking at the original, there's no navigation. All you're seeing is the original image in the browser tab. The visitor has left the album entirely. The browser's "back" button will take you back to the slide page, but there's no way to let the visitor know that he needs to do that. And this is using a "slide page" skin - in a modern lightbox skin, the browser's "back" button might not take you back to the lightbox (skin dependent).
You could simply reinstall the old version of Minimal that you're currently using. It should run without any difficulty with the current version of jAlbum. The functionality that you want is being provided by the skin, not by the jAlbum core.
I'm sorry I don't have a solution for you at the moment, but I'm experimenting with something that might work well.

Thank you very much for answering me this topic.
I understand that you loose a navigations and must use back on browser. But on the other side it is very simple and does not need too much programming. Browser usually support isolated image zoming and moving view frame very well.
Otherwise you will need html page wrapper with controls for original image. The wrapper should implement zoomable viewer.
This is just a hint from LLM, how to do implement this fix:
Replace Download Code
You would search for a part of the script that may look something like this:

Change it to:

function displayImage(imageUrl) {

After doing skin development for over 20 years, I'm well aware of the various ways to do this. The standard techniques produce clunky, outdated pages (as does the Minimal skin).
I've got a better idea, but need some time to iron out the kinks

This is always balance between functionality and amount of work.
Loosing web browser controls is much less evil than saving file to disk location specified and use separate external image viewer. This looks like "driving out the devil with the Satan". The second approach wastes much more time.

If you navigate to upper right corner, the download button is modified to show original image. It is very important if you have e.g. small bird on photography and you would like to look for details.
It is not clean to me, what you want to invent for this purpose.
There should be secondary optional button deserved for download.

Experimental:

From the slide image lightbox, down-arrow to download, magnifier to open original and zoom/pan. The original isn't pre-loaded, and these are about 14MB each, so on a slow connection, there will be some lag - the originals aren't loaded until you call for them. |
