Hi
Seems to me that the full screen icon (function) now works only one way. On click it goes to full screen -but the icon don't change and when clicking it does not return to normal. I have to use 'Esc'

Example:

Confirmed. Broken in Story, but it works properly in Tiger and Photoblogger.

I hate being a bother. But is there any plan to fix this?
You see - I have this weird habit of constantly improving old photos and re-uploading albums.
Now with this error along, so I hope for a fix soon.
(Actually, I have to say it's strange how often there are various small errors with almost every update.. usually it's not the end of the world but a bit annoying)

Yes, I will fix this soon.

These bugs don't significantly impact the skin's usability. We are a small company with only one skin developer and no dedicated testing department. I used to develop skins in parallel, taking over the code from my other skins where it worked, but this approach doesn't always work flawlessly.

Once you find a bug, you can always revert to the previous version. Look for "releases" on this page: https://jalbum.net/en/skins/skin/Story

And sometimes a bug is not an actual bug in the skin, but rather a change in the browser(s). Just like the full-screen functionality has changed recently. Now, when the webpage does not provide a function for the situation when the browser refuses the full-screen change, it will reject the action altogether. I will have to find out what's happening now, but it could be another change.

Thanks for your reply Laza. I know you all are working hard to keep your skins shining and free of bugs and you're doing a great job -mostly :-) ..
Seriously -you in special are making the best skins (sorry you other good developers:) with so much possibilities -and therefore -I guess -also more to check out when updating..

A testing department would be a real plus for you, but I see the challenge that would be for jAlbum all in all.

Now -about browsers -I always try my uploads in 3 browsers when I see some error...

Yesterday I tried to downgrade and maybe I'm doing something wrong but it did not work well. The same error were there anyway -so maybe there is something in jAlbum software?.. Just an info.

+Also if downgrading: What happens to my settings in the latest version? -like colors, fonts etc etc..
What's the best way to downgrade? Uninstall and reinstall? Or copy and paste like explained here:?

(This I'd like to know but please answer when you have the time!)+

All the best to you - Good luck!

For skin downgrades check you are loading the correct skin (version) - bold or standard text.
See https://jalbum.net/help/en/jAlbum/Welcome#Skin_and_style
The skin info. Button is just above the skin settings button.

Since I do a lot of "messing about," I often need to go back to an earlier skin version. For the bundled skins, instead of puzzling over which version I'm getting when I select the skin in the app, I just start off by deleting any and all copies of the skin. Tools > Open directories > Open config directory and delete skins/NameOfSkin. Then open the program directory, and do the same. Finally, install the version I actually want to use.

When I'm done tinkering, it's an easy matter to reinstall the latest version from the skin page on the site.

Also if downgrading: What happens to my settings in the latest version? -like colors, fonts etc etc..

That's where things get tricky. If the skin developer hasn't made a bunch of changes to the available settings and their internal variable names, you're pretty much safe. When you open your saved project file, all your new settings will still be there. But if there have been extensive internal changes to the skin (something I try to avoid in my own skins, for exactly this reason), you might find that things need resetting, or that some of the settings in the newest version simply don't exist in the earlier version.

So -it seems like you actually delete the skin via windows filemanager directly - guided there by jAlbum. Instead how I did earlier -Tools-Skin developer-Delete selected skin..
That way it still seemed like the bundled Story still was there but the Settings window showed nothing. So -I installed version 6.2.1. -but it did not solve anything -the full screen bug was still there..
Well I will have your way of downgrading in mind Jeff -so thanks for the explanation!
(Sometimes I feel jAlbum have several ways to solve things but the ways do not always meet at the same goal.. or maybe they are not supposed to :-)

Anyway I see Laza have fixed it all in a latest update now, so thanks Laza!

And may I add -you guys are really running a great support -compared to so many other software providers..
If I seem inpatient now and then it's because I have become that grumpy old man I just to laugh about in younger days...... it's sad .. ;)

I avoid that choice, because it tries to be "smart." It will delete the version of the skin you installed, but then leave the bundled version that came with the last jAlbum update. That's usually not what you're trying to do. The bundled version may still be the problem.

(If David is listening, "Delete selected skin" should delete both copies!)

If you click the skin info button it shows where the loaded skin is and you can delete it by clicking on the trash/bin icon.

If the skin is a downloaded one it will be deleted and if it is was an updated version of a bundled skin a message will say 'you are now left with the bundled skin'. If you click the delete button again it will open the application's skin folder in the file system and you can delete it there.

Thanks Ron
But this is what happened for me when I did it that way; I deleted the downloaded Story skin and like you say -clicked the bin and the message said 'you are now left with the bundled skin' like you say.. BUT:
'If you click the delete button again....'
That I could not do because the 'bin' was faded out and I was not able to click it.

In my head I agree with Jeff if I understand him right; if you want to delete a skin it should be enough to do so in one process instead of stumble around to get rid of it completely.... (just a thought)

If the button is faded out you can click on the link ‘Where’, that will open the skin’s folder in the application’s folder and can then be manually deleted. I find that the quickest way. But the best method is the one that works for you :)
