Attachment Untitled.png (7.2 KB)
Since I upgraded to the latest version (jAlbum 35.1.3, Java 22, 64bit) I regularly get the message that image settings have been changed and it needs to regenerate the entire album which is a nuisance with well over 63000 photo's. (see attached file)
Those settings have not been changed, I only added a number of photo's.

Does anybody know what causes this?
Thanks!

Just before you do a make album, when you get that message, are you seeing an orange asterisk in the bottom left corner?

Not sure so I will keep an eye open for that! If so what does that signify?

Click the link in RobM's post, which will take you to the wiki entry about this.

Ok. I found the link and the explanation for it. Will work on that next time it happens.
Thanks!

I just updated to Jalbum version 37.3 and PhotoBlogger 6.2.1 (was version 5.4) and now when I go to Make Album, I get the message that image settings have changed. I have not made any changes. Following the suggestion of this thread, I clicked on the white star in the bottom left of the Jalbum window which reports two changes:

thumbLayout changed from horizontal to justified
copyGoogleFonts changed from true to false

I didn't make these changes and when I search the Photoblogger settings, I see that "Thumbnail layout" is indeed set to "Justified" and that "horizontal" is no longer a choice in the GUI.

My album is more than 10k images and I don't want to regenerate all the images. Is there a workaround for this problem?

You can hit the revert button to revert those changes, then make the album. (Some changes are introduced by the skin for layout purposes)

If the thumbnail image bounds or the slide image bounds have not been changed, this will not regenerate all of the images.

ETA: In fact, the change from “horizontal” to “Justified” won’t even change the appearance of the finished album. Those two are the same thing - only the wording has changed.

If “horizontal” is no longer one of the jComboBox choices, won’t reverting result in an unusable jComboBox?

Good point. As long as the asterisk isn't orange, no image regeneration will be forced.

Thanks for the quick replies.

I chose the "revert" for the setting changes and the white star went away; however, Istill got a warning that the entire album needed to be remade because settings had changed. I chose to go ahead anyway, but you were correct in that it did not in fact regenerate all my images (but did still take nearly 30 minutes for an album of about 20k pictures).

Good. We may need to look into the logic that presents that warning, so it isn't presented unless really needed.
