Changing style resets image/sizes sizes - expected behavior?

Is it to be expected that changing style in a skin resets image and page sizes?

It would depend on the skin, most skins only change the look of the page. If you say what skin you are using I move this post to that skin’s forum.

The styles have different thumbnail layouts (like Grid, Fixed grid, Justified), which trigger different thumbnail sizes. The lightbox image size and the page width should not change after a style change.

From my attempts it looks like the page width changes when I switch style.

All of the Tiger styles default to a max page width of 1080, and changing styles doesn't alter that. But if you have set it to some other value, then change styles, it reverts to the default 1080.
