Making/Uploading and the "New" Background Mode!!

Good Morning
Just a question,
How long has the Tools > Preferences > Background mode been in operation?
It just appeared for the first time and threw me for a while, everyone has their own habits I guess and over time I have had one or two very odd things happen when
uploading albums, the albums destination being the main one.
But after a look into jAlbums preferences I managed to find this background option.
I just like to know exactly what's happening thats all, in the "where its all going to be ending up" sense, and so have a chance to redirect things if the albums destination is for some mystery reason wrong. Which in the past, it has been.
Unchecking this preferences background mode option sorted it out.
Regards Peter

Hello Rob
Thank You for this, I have never noticed it before...
It caught me out though, as it somehow must have got switched on.
I shall have a read up of your link.
I really thought it was something new...
Edit: I see its been around for quite a while, and I think it may be a good idea
to make the preferences > Background mode never come on by default.
Thinking about it, I did know that background "mode" was an option as its in the Make and Upload menus.
What I didn't know was that if background mode was selected in Tools > Preferences, both of those menus become background only.
Regards Peter

I believe "background mode" is the better default. The issues we've had with surprising upload target directories should have been sorted out by now - partly with a recent update and hopefully totally with v35.
If jAlbum, for any reason, thinks it should upload to a different target directory than previously, you WILL see a confirmation message. If you're not happy with it, just do a "foreground" upload once (Tools->Upload/Manage). After that, save the project settings. Now the desired target directory should be used for subsequent uploads.

Hello David,
Yes, I see what you are thinking now, but maybe its because I am getting older, I dont know, but things are difficult to get used to sometimes.
I had not realised this setting was there.
I do like to know where things are going though, I always have done and although this is very useful I will keep doing things just as I am, just so I know. And use MultiMaker when I am uploading a lot of albums.
JAlbum has grown sooo far over the years and has become truly amazing. Its a credit to you all.
Kind Regards, Peter

Thanks Peter. Luckily there is an option for this so you can keep it the way you prefer.
