I've narrowed it down, and let David know. It works on a Mac, but not on Windows, with exactly the same project, and same folder-deletion actions. Since they're theoretically using the same Java libraries, that's very puzzling, indeed, but I've confirmed it with multiple simple tests.

Thanks guys. This will help me fix this. I'm relaying a call to an API that might differ between Windows and Mac, so it's not impossible that there is a difference.

Now I've released b16 to https://jalbum.net/download/beta/jalbum-core.jar

This beta should have this problem fixed now

Changes:
  • Fix to folders not being deleted properly from server on Windows
  • Changed behaviour of uploader: You now needs to complete an upload to a selected folder for jAlbum to write this new remote folder to the project. This avoids the risk of other incorrect folders being selected by the user (when investigating a remote folder tree) and then persisted to the project, leading to uploads to unwanted folders.
  • One can now quickly move between project groups by clicking the title for the current project group and then hold down the mouse as the panel expands. Now just drag the mouse to the desired project group and release it. jAlbum will now change to this project group and collapse the panel
  • One can now quickly move a project to another project group by simply dragging it onto the title of the current project group, hold the mouse for a second so the panel expands and now drag the mouse to the desired target group

Tested in Windows and an M2 chip Mac, and it all seems happy!

I knew there was a reason to keep one foot in each world. I should have kept my old Apple chip Mac and my long-gone Android phone, to complete the testing suite. ;)

David,

Running a few hours behind you guys as I'm in Colorado.

Just tested. Created an album with nested albums (4 deep),.

Pleased to say that your diligence has paid off and I can confirm Jeff's findings, "IT'S FIXED"

Should consider getting this out to customers quickly.

Kind Regards,

Nigel.

Yes, we have a release coming up very soon. Although I think this is mostly cosmetic, it's good to get rid of stale directories.
