Image titles not displayed on Tiger/Linen slideshow

First time playing around with jAlbum and I must have changed a setting so that titles no longer show below the image in the slideshow. They are displayed within the album folder and thumbnails, just not within the slideshow. I looked through settings several times and can't find what I might have changed. I even cleared browser cache but no change. Anyone help?

BTW, at any time, you can click the magnifying glass icon at upper right, and type in the term you're looking for, like caption. It will show you all of the places that occurs in the UI, and if you click on one of the "hits," it will take you to that panel, and put a little circle around where it is.

Thanks. Didn't know about the search and it seems pretty impressive. Didn't find my problem yest but I'll keep working at it.

Well, what's showing in the box for the caption template? With the default setting, it should show any title you have entered in jAlbum, and any comment. If you've entered neither of those two things for an image, the lightbox caption will be empty.

Advice for a newbie, as well: don't start changing default settings willy-nilly unless you're sure you understand what they do. For example, telling jAlbum to process only updated directories can have all sorts of mysterious consequences. The settings on this particular panel, if meddled with, can make you think all sorts of things are wrong!

And of course, always remember that until you actually click Make Album, nothing in the output is going to change.

One other important bit of information.... If you get really stumped by something, create a little test album that shows the problem, upload it, and give us a link. jAlbum automatically includes a "lifeboat" file in the upload, which contains various project control files (settings, etc.). We can discover more about your project in 30 seconds than we could find out after an hour of playing 20 Questions. ;)

Thanks. I may get a chance tomorrow to upload a small gallery with the problem. I stayed away from changing any of the advance settings but have made other changes. It may also have something to do with my browser because as I was doing a preview, I could sometimes (not always) see the captions by toggling the 'fit-to-screen' and maximizing the browser window. At other times the photo took up the entire screen, leaving no room for a caption. Other times I could just see the tiny top of the caption window but not enough to see any words.

Make sure you haven't activated any "browser zooming." That often confuses the daylights out of a responsive lightbox script, because the browser is doing something the script doesn't know about. If in doubt, hit CRTL-0 (zero).

All is OK and I don't think it had anything to do with the skin settings. It may have been something as silly as not having my browser window properly positioned on my monitor. I'm very impressed with my gallery so far. Can't wait to finish and publish. Sorry for wasting your time. Thanks again
