Folder descriptions have gone missing

Start a new Minimal project with at least one folder. Enter an album title and album description, and also enter a title and description for the folder. Make the album. On the folder's index page, the description is missing.
This is hitting all of my skins, as well.
Seems to have first started happening in jAlbum 29.0.2.
ETA: It's OK in the JSON-driven skins.

Credit for spotting this one goes to user jret - see the Other skins section post. I probably would have stumbled on it eventually, but it's one of those things that has worked correctly for so long, you don't really pay attention to it. In my little test projects, I rarely enter descriptions for folders.

Thanks for the quick fix. You're correct - it's one of those things that never seems to break - I kept checking & wondering if I had done something incorrectly between updates.

And I was suspicious because, at the same time, I had switched from BeanShell scripting to Groovy scripting, which could have been the problem. It was tough to sort out. A quick check with Minimal, which is still using BeanShell, resolved it. Not my fault! Blame it on David!  |

This doesn't seem to solve the problem on ZigZag skin. I'm using jAlbum 29.1b4 and ZigZag 2.2.0

jAlbum 29.1 is no longer in beta. Please install the full release.
ZigZag 2.2.0 is showing folder descriptions properly for me in jAlbum 29.1.6.

I am now on version 29.1.8, but no changes.
I started a new test project with one main page and one subfolder.
On the main page, it takes the correct album title from the main folder, but the description from the "Parameters>Général>Album description" instead of the description from the folder.
On the subfolder page, it takes the correct Title, but no Description.
I have three projects using ZigZag that I cannot update for the moment.
Thanks for your help.

David, there's something odd going on here. Whether descriptions/comments are displayed seems to be rather hit-or-miss.
In settings1, you can see the Album Title and Album Description entered. But in settings2, the description is missing.
In settings3, you can see the folder description entered. But in settings4, the description is missing.
Whether these elements are displayed in the album depends upon where they're entered! If they're entered in the right-hand panel, they don't show up in the album. If they're entered under General, and below the folder thumbnail, they do show up.
ETA: The Title field is much better-behaved.

Jeff, the only problem I was able to reproduce was the title and description under folder properties not updating correctly when changing the corresponding fields under Settings->General, but I've fixed that in 29.1.9 now. As for the other inconsistencies, I can't reproduce.

It's now working on a newly-creating project. But if you've got an existing project in which these fields have gotten out of sync, it seems to be impossible to get them straightened out again.
Here's a zipped-up project.
(project removed)
Try to get the Album Description to display the same text both on the Settings > General panel and in the right panel in Explore. Ditto for the Folder Description.
Even setting both of them to blank doesn't get you back to a workable condition.

Just took a look at the control files for that project. Both at the top level and at the folder level, meta.properties has one thing for descrip, and .info has something else for description.
Fun for the whole family.  |
