rating options
Posted: 27 Oct 22, 11:40

My customers are asking if there is a way to set some photos as favorites to quickly find a selection of appreciated photos.

I looked at the option "rating" and saw the option "Allow visitor rating"
https://jalbum.net/help/en/Skin/Tiger3/Site/Rating
is there any way to get this working after you close the session, so its stored, maybe by cookies ? or on the server? (although I understand that this will have a big impact)

my situation is not per person but for everyone as each customer only sees his own album and the directories are not publicly accessible.

(to a certain extent a fee is negotiable :)

Rating at the current form is used to rate pictures for making the selection easier for the shopping cart or feedback. So the ratings are not saved for the next session. It's not impossible to implement, but I'll see if I can add this to the schedule.

Hi Laca,
any luck in getting this on your schedule, making ratings survive sessions ?
Would be a great addition.

Ratings are saved between sections since a few versions back.

If you mean share ratings between users, that's not possible to implement by a skin, you will need a server-side program and a database that implements this.

Hi Laca,

Is that only true when my album is on jalbum.net, or also if I have published my album on a hosting site.
Because my ratings dissapear when I visit the hosting site again and view my album.

And yes, I understand the implication of sharing multiple user ratings. Would be really nice though if this was possible :)

Regards, Ton
