Transition speed broken

I would like to have no transition effect; no fading, sliding or anything.
I tried setting transition speed, but it always reverts to the default.
I edited transition speed setting in jalbum-settings.jap to 0 but I still get a small transition speed.
I don't know what the setting skin.transitionType=conveyor does or what are the alternatives.
Thanks for any help or suggestions!

The transition speed is a variable whose minimum value is 50ms, and whose maximum value is 10000ms. It's defined that way in the Java source code. You can't magically cause it to take on some value outside that range.

I would like to have no transition effect; no fading, sliding or anything.

That wouldn't appear to be an option in the skin. I have to confess to being a little mystified, however - do you seriously think that the sudden replacement of one image with another would look good? If so, this may not be the skin for you.

I don't know what the setting skin.transitionType=conveyor does or what are the alternatives.

I imagine that refers to the "slide the current image off to the left, and slide the next image in from the right" transition. But if it's not on one of the skin settings panels, it's not something you can change.

Perhaps Laza intends to provide some alternative in a future release, like a cross-fade, though it's hard to envision how that would work, given the page layout.

Yes, you guessed it. There are other transition types planned, e.g. "Cover flip", and "Carousel", all of them based on the same horizontal move.

I will release a skin similar to Lucid today, which has simple - not conveyor-like - transition effects. You'll be able to set 0 there as transition length.

Must admit, instant change of pictures is not natural to my eyes.

More transitions types will be welcome for Lucid.

Crossfade is my favorite. Something eye pleasing, not moving pictures in/out.

The skin that has the other transition types is Animatics. Lucid is special because it has a conveyor structure - this is why it's a separate skin from Animatics.

OK,

The moving in of the right of slides in the slideshow is all right for me if it was smooth.

What may need some TLC is what happens now the current slide flashes to the right and then move out left and the new one flashes in from the right.
Also happens whne you select a slide from the thumbnails,

I'm not seeing that in Lucid at all. The current image fades out as it slides to the left while the next image slides in from the right. It's very smooth. Try setting the transition speed to a high value, so you can carefully observe what's happening.

Well, I see it in your album, but....

(demo album removed)

I'll have to check your settings to see what could be causing it.

I can't reproduce that "jumpy" effect, with any settings. I'll have to leave this one for Laza.

If you stop the slideshow and just use next/previous it is smooth going backward (previous) but very jumpy going forward.

Going backwards is often more smooth than going forward, but not always.

I wll wait for Laza to help me understand this.

Finally, I could sort this issue out in the latest update. Sorry, it took a bit longer than expected.
