I created a collection of historical photos taken by Charles Warren Eaton Photography of Charles Warren Eaton, photographer and artist, of scenes from his travels to Europe between 1900 and 1925. Eaton was a master of photo composition. Some of his photos are exceptional. For a preview, see the folder Best of all. These were all digitized from acetate negatives and repaired using Photoshop.

If you know anyone with a passion for history or associated with a historical society in any of these cities, please share these photos with them. Some include scenes of locations that were bombed in WWI.

Photos include:
*Belgium: Antwerp, Bruges, Brussels, Courtrai, Damme, Dinant, Furnes, Ghent, Knokke-Heist, Lissewege and Mechelen
*England: Warwick Castle and Winsford
*France: Chartres, Grez-sur-Loing and Paris
*Germany: Frankfort, Heidelberg, Nuremberg and the Rhine Gorge
*Italy: Bellagio, Lake Como, Chioggia, Lake Lucerne, Lake Lugano, Venice, Verena, and the lake region near the Italy-Switzerland border
*Netherlands: Amsterdam, Delft, Haarlem and Middelburg, and
*United States: Colebrook, Connecticut

For the Winsford, England, photos you might be able to get information on your images by contacting

They may also find your images of interest.

By the way, I think Winsford #235 shows St Chad’s Church,

Some familiar territory! I live in Barkhamsted, CT, which is very rural, and we consider Colebrook to be the back of beyond. It's not the end of the world, but you can see it from there!

A couple of Google street views attached. A couple of the houses look familiar, but I can't pin them down. Next sunny day I'll have to take a little top-down cruise. ;)

Having sent the link to someone from Winsford Cheshire, they have said they are probably Winsford, but in Somerset or possibly some from Exmoor.
