To enable multiple instances of jAlbum to run you can double click the "jAlbum-ini" file in jAlbum's installation folder for editing. Now change the line:
Single Instance=yes
to
Single Instance=no
and save the changes.
Perfect! Works like a charm. Thanks David.

You can safely edit and make different projects in different jAlbum instances this time. What can occur is that jAlbum's recent projects list only will display the recent projects of the last exited jAlbum instance.
OK.

Catching up on this old issue: Well, now: where is jalbum.ini on a Linux install? Path? I did a disk-wide search with no results for jAlbum.ini and jalbum.ini.

That's because it's a Windows file.

Just a WAG, but look for Jalbum.desktop on your system.

Yep: déjà vu all over again.

BUT - see way below.

Oh, yeah: when I saw the WAG, my memory was jogged.

There are so many places to customize settings. I have trouble remembering them all. Gods forbid I should have to do a reinstall and lose customizations.

Thanks for the wake up call in the New Year. Make it a HAPPY one.

So, should I add,
Single Instance=no

?

I had to search to find the old post, I was just sure it had been mentioned before.

Not unless you want to run two instances of jAlbum, and if you do then be careful ;)

Questions like this always puzzle me a bit. Why don't you just try it, and see? What's the worst that could happen? It might not work, in which case you can take it out again.

In the past with version below jAlbum 23 I always started 2 or 3 instances with the comandline (multiple dosboxes) some with the same project files of some different completely random.

But now with version 26.1 I noticed that in my folder where all the projects files are stored; while creating a jAlbum its keep updating one and the same .\.jalbum\.info XML file.
I haven't tested this extensively yet, but I was planning to give each project his own folder.

jAlbum should be updating the .jalbum/.info file of each project folder. Is it updating that .info file of some other shared folder?
