Hi
Don't know if this is an Android, Tablet or skin issue or some combination
I have the Lightbox: Thumbnail strip: set to
- Always Visible
- Position: Bottom
- Fixed Shape thumbnails: enabled
- Presets: Title or file name and Comment
When I turn my phone to Landscape mode: Preset shows, film strip half cut-off
When I turn my phone to Portrait mode: Preset shows, film strip half cut-off
When I turn my tablet to Landscape mode: Preset shows, no film strip
When I turn my tablet to Portrait mode: Preset is half cut-off, no film strip

Just tried a test album, and it works fine in Firefox on an Android phone, but in Chrome, the thumbstrip does, indeed, get cut in half. That's one for Laza to dig into.
Quickly slapped-together test album: (test album removed)
(ETA: Personal preference, I would always hide the entire thumbstrip on a mobile - there's just not enough screen real estate to handle a lot of extra content.)

Is it possible to turn it off for mobile devices but not on the web site, I haven't spotted anything that looks like such an option.

No, the skin doesn't have that option. I was just suggesting to Laza that rather than fight the Chrome/Android problem, it might be better simply to eliminate the thumbstrip on mobiles.

Unfortunately there's no way for a webpage to fit into the visible area, as the bottom part is of unknown height. The best I can do - what jGromit suggested - is to hide the thumbnails on mobiles. However, mobile browsers tend to hide their mobile nature from the web pages in order to discourage developers from providing different content, but the skin can still easily detect it.

For things like this, I don't try to detect "mobile" or "not mobile." I just assume that if the viewport is less than 500px in either dimension, you're on a phone, and I start shutting things off to save space (even things like borders or thumbnail spacing that are more than a pixel or two).

What do you think guys if the skin removes the thumb strip on mobiles, won't it be the next problem the main image's bottom gets chopped?

I couldn't say. Who wrote the responsiveness script? 
Mobile browsers, with their "now you see it, now you don't" address bars, are miserable to deal with. The viewport keeps changing size. |

There are still problems in Projector 2.0.0 in Chrome on Android, but they're now new and different.
When you start the slideshow, the thumbstrip is just barely visible, as a tiny sliver of the tops of the thumbnail images - see sliver.jpg. If you actually tap the screen down there (tricky to do, because the target is so small), the thumbstrip magically reappears, in its proper size.
At other times, I get an empty slide image - see empty.jpg.

I don't want to bother with this full screen problem on mobiles. It's just how the browsers decided to work and they also decided to hide the state from the web pages, so the album has no idea if the browser window is maximized or not. You can swipe up the sidebar to maximize the browser.
The empty page is odd. Does this happen in your test album?

My simple, default-settings test album is virtually unusable in Chrome on Android. I routinely get a blank slide image if I just refresh the page. I quickly get into a state in which I can't access the top control at all, and there's no way to get back to the root of the album - I'm trapped in a folder - see stuck.jpg.
Sorry, but I just don't have the patience to struggle with this any longer. If no other users are encountering these problems, then there's no point worrying about them.
I'll leave the demo album up there for a day or two, but then I'll dump it. There's nothing special or unusual about it.

I could not reproduce the "browse bar hiding the page content" problem but others might stumble upon this too. Let's wait if others see this.

Playing with it a bit a few minutes I could reproduce the same. I have no idea when Chrome hides the top bar and when it scrolls the page behind it. The same gesture can end up in both behavior.  I might need to gather some info about this... |

Projector 2.2.1: the thumbstrip is still hidden in both Chrome and Firefox on Android - it's there, and I can just see the top edge of it.
This strikes me as another one of those situations in which, if the viewport is smaller than 500px in either dimension, you should just dump the thumbstrip. Thumbstrips aren't very useful on small displays, anyway.
BTW, the latest version of Firefox for Android puts the address bar on the bottom - a new challenge for page layout! You can move the address bar back to the top, but the browser starts misbehaving in other ways if you do - they really, really want you to leave the address bar at the bottom!
