Thumbnail view, current image visible in control bar?

When in thumbnail view, the top of the current image is shown in the control bar.
A bit ugly to be honest.
When hovered over it changes back to to the design bakground color.
How to set the background permanently to the design bakground color?

Hope the screenshot explains it better
Only when you hover the control bar area it chages to the control bar, otherwise the top of the current image is shown.
I accept it may be by design, but it looks a bit odd at the top this way. Chrome desktop W10.
On Android tablet the control bar keeps visible btw. and that loks much better imho.

Yes, perhaps having a covering background behind the control bar could be better when a panel is visible...

1.1.1 still shows this artefact on the top. Any plans?

I think this is a wrong combination of background and text color. You shouldn't use white text on white background.

I see what he's getting at. See the attached screenshots.
I think when it's in "thumbnail view," the control bar area at the top should be the same (a solid background color), whether you're hovering on it or not. In other words, when you're displaying the thumbnails, you are interacting with the navigation controls, hover or not.
(ETA: Yes, the text color choice is wrong, but that's a different issue.)

Here screenshots how it looks with the cursor hovering in the thumbnails area and with the cursor hovering in the top bar.
Looks not very attractive this way.
Windows 10 64 bit, Chrome or Edge, current Jalbum and Lucid
PS My first screenshot in the beginning of this thread is not displaying white text on white background, its grey text on a white background.

I don't see if you think both are ugly or just when it's transparent. I can make the top bar always opaque when the thumbnails panel is displayed, but I think no need to make it opaque if it's only the music controls or the map is displayed as those are small enough, so some of the users might want to keep them permanently visible while flipping through an album.

My question is not about the text or top bar being opaque but about the top part of the image (overlaid by the thumbnails) visible in Chrome dependent on where the mouse cursor is hovering.
I like the behaviour I see on my Android tablet, where the top bar is not showing the top of the current image at all, just the top bar.
You may take a look at:
http://reizen.hansotten.nl/uploads/europa/nederland/oudheden/Cyprus%202019/index.html#img=IMG_0635.JPG
and choose thumbnails. Hover around in chrome and see the top of the image appearing and disappearing. In my point of view less atractive. My wish would be to have the (top of the) image not visible at all in thumbnail view.
