Major bug in either jAbum ver 18.4 or the Projector code ver 1.4.0 from August 26, 2019.

Discovered an issue with the recent update. Don't know if it is in the jAlbum code issue or the skin code. I'll post this message into the forum as well.

I updated the Projector skin when I updated jAlbum a few days ago because whatever is happening is in that code. The problem is that any albums I've published since the upgrade, the slide show is non-functional. When you click on that link for starting the slide show, the next screen is blank locally as well as on my account. I'm not experiencing it on older albums which have not been updated. Tried two different browsers on my Win 7 Pro OS - Opera as well as Chrome. No difference in behaviors.

Screen shots of what I'm seeing, attached, along with the URLs.

Do you understand why giving us a picture of the URL is not helpful? This means that we can't click on the link to start investigating. We have to look at the picture, write down the URL, then manually enter it in the browser's address bar.

In future, please provide an actual link to the problem, like this:

https://fotofun2.jalbum.net/Macro%20Horticulture/Indiana/2019/

I don't know why this slideshow fails. I will have to leave that one to Laza.

BTW, you've added a header logo that's actually a huge, 1178x1202 pixel, 1.5MB file, and it's a PNG, to boot. Makes the page initially very slow to load. You might want to use the attached image, instead. Less than 10KB, and with even margins around the image.

Thanks for reporting! The bug affects the "Mark new" feature only. So if you turn that off, or replace main.js and main.min.js with the attached ones in the 'js' folder of the skin directory (Ctrl-Shift-S), it will hopefully work. I will fix the skin with the next release.

You might want to fix the custom banner code too, because if you refer to an image with http: from a secure page the browser will drop an error: use
https://banners.jalbum.net/res/banners/CreatePro/jalbum-728x90.png

I'll double check that. The header was suppose to be a jpeg with a 50% compression. Thanks for pointing that out to me.

I'll check the settings for the "New" soon. Been busy with the camera lately and haven't had time to get back into this issue to resolve.

The custom banner was produced by jAlbum for my use in that size and with the hot link back to the jAlbum website as an external link opening in a new tab/window. I haven't had any issues with the banner, that I'm aware of happening as I don't get an error message (tested with Opera, Chrome, and Firefox - all latest revisions on Windows 7pro). You might want to let Anders know about this situation since he made the banner and scripting code for me. This is the code provided me for that banner:
<a href="http://jalbum.net/?banner=http://banners.jalbum.net/res/banners/CreatePro/jalbum-728x90.png" target="_blank"><img src="http://banners.jalbum.net/res/banners/CreatePro/jalbum-728x90.png" /></a>

You could have gone to my account (https://fotofun2.jalbum.net) and clicked on the links without having to write them down. However, I'll include them within the error reports next time.

Regarding the PNG file... I've double checked my source image files and there are no PNG images. When I switched to the Projector skin, I deleted all photos on the jalbum drive and began with fresh images for uploading the skin.

Laza has provided me with assistance on what to do so a new set of images is in process. Takes about two hours to update my upload file so I won't have the new set until later today uploaded.

Just change each http to https. That's all you have to do to avoid the errors. Pages don't like to have a mix of secure and insecure links, and jAlbum site links are now all secure (https).

There may be no PNG images in your album project, but the header logo you're using is, indeed, a PNG file. Because it's not really part of the album project, it doesn't get processed by jAlbum. It remains a 1.5MB PNG file, and slows down the page loading considerably. That's why I noticed it in the first place.

ETA: Under Projector > Cover Page > Header > Logo, just use the little 9.9KB logo file I attached to my post above, instead of the 1.5MB monster you're using now.

took me awhile because the image "was" in the RES folder. it's being removed and new uploads are in process using the jpg image you sent me.

That's good to know, Anders was going to let me know when they got all that fixed because my browsers were barking at me about insecure albums.

You can only fix this. Please replace http: with https: in the link - that's all.
