Just wondering... can a custom page be flagged as hidden in the same way you can hide a folder? Why would I want this? I'd like to create a 404 page which I can define in .htaccess

You can only hide folders, see http://jalbum.net/help/en/jAlbum/Explore
under Contextual Menus, On Thumbnails, Hide.

You can though process a template file that would create a 404 HTML page. You can add the template to the project and exclude it, or add it to the skin folder.
