Please understand, the way jAlbum stores information about images in database driven skins, - like Photoblogger - makes such skins broken when they try to reach data in such password-protected folders. You will experience never finishing searches, new image- and tag cloud searches. So I'd suggest you to create separate albums of such images that need protection.
