A trip on waterways from St. Petersburg to Moscow, with stops in between. This is more of a visual diary than just an photo album. It also represents a total re-do of an album put together some years ago with home made software storing images in a database. This is a total re-do, moving to the Tiger skin, making the album "responsive." And, several of the images reflect my having gained editing skills with The GIMP. Images were shot with a 2003 vintage Canon digital camera, which lacked the sharpness of more modern cameras. Album image is a view looking back from our ship towards St. Petersburg.

Recounting a tour of Big Bend, a remote area defined by a bend in the Rio Grande River in west Texas. Sparsely settled, Big Bend has the darkest, light-pollution-free skies in the continental USA. Astrophotograhers love it for this reason and it enabled this amateur to get a shot of our extended home - the Milky Way galaxy. Other highlights included Chisos Basin - one of the most beautiful areas in the whole of Big Bend National Park. Fill your gas tank before entering!

Following a wedding anniversary celebration in Noyon, FR, we traveled to Switzerland for scenic train rids through the Swiss and Austrian Alps. Points of interest / rides included Interlaken, Junfraujoch (the highest train station in Europe), Zermatt and the Matterhorn, a ride on the world-class Bernina Express. We ended the trip, passing through the corner of Lichtenstein and on to Innsbruck and end the tour in Vienna.
