Today is a great day for Jalbumers! After months of coding, testing and intense listening to user requests we are now launching a brand new version of the Jalbum.net site. This includes all the user pages, so if you have a Jalbum account you are in for a treat. If your don't – get your free account now!
Here are our top 3 new features
Customizable homepage
From now on, username.jalbum.net is your most important Jalbum link to visit and to share. This is where your visitors find all your albums and where you can edit information about yourself and your albums. You may re-design the appearance of the page with the help of themes, to add your personal touch. For you those with premium and power accounts we provide a wider selection of themes and a color picker to customize every single color on your homepage!
Convenient Edit and Delete
Deleting albums from your Jalbum account has been a hassle. Now it’s easy. Each album now has a separate edit page. This page allow you to change album cover image that will be displayed in the community pages and your homepage. This is also where change your selection for widgets and where you will find the delete button when you want to get rid of an unwanted album.
Privacy and Password protection
We know that it’s important for you to share your photos with the right crowd. Choose to make your album public to the Jalbum community or private. The latter option means it won't be visible on your homepage or in the community pages, but you can still send a link to your album to a friend. You may also set a password for your album if you choose to. All of this takes place on the settings section of the Edit album page.
But wait there's more
Sharing and embed options to easily share any album in the community on sites like Twitter, Facebook or embed on a blog.
Favorites are called Likes, because it make more sense. If you like an album you will subscribe to its updates on your news feed.
…and Contacts are called Follows to remove the threshold of approving contact requests. People we follow are not necessarily our friends, but might also be photographers we admire.
New private messages, which will make following a conversation much easier, with the help of threaded messages.
New browsebar when visiting the explore section will occupy less space in the web browser and will make the album exploring more fun and flexible.
Thanks!
This launch would not have been possible without the support of our fantastic community. A big thank you to pixel magician Laza for designing our new site.
