New, instant web albums!

We've just made a small but powerful tool to help you share your images on the web, and easier faster than ever.

jAlbum Instant is the quick and accessible short-cut for updating existing albums or create new ones.

• No startup time.
• Low memory usage.
• Small download, just 1Mb.
• Lives only on the context menu – accessible all over the place in Windows, even from file selection boxes from other programs.

 

Here's one way of working with it:

Say you have been on a trip or something, and find yourself with a camera full of images you want to share.

1. Start by hooking up your camera to the computer with USB as usual then open it to view all files.
2. In the Explorer window select a group of images and right click on them.

   

3. From the new jAlbum menu option, select sign in and create a new web album.

   

4. You get choose to create a new album or add these images to an existing one. Let's create a new one for this.

   

Once images have finished uploading, you're all done!

Click View to see the result or Edit to change privacy settings, change image captions or customize the theme.

You will remain signed in to jalbum for another 10 minutes. While signed in, you get more options in the menu. Right click an image again:

Using these alternatives, you can just as easy add images to an existing album! It also enables you to upload lower quality images, to save space and upload faster. Perfect if you're on a slow connection. The upload size is typically reduced by 50% or more, while still being printable, retaining metadata and looking just as good. Your original images are always left untouched.

Images shot by todays digital cameras are often way too large for just viewing on a screen or small format printing. Depending on the intended usage and your internet connection, it may be a waste of time and space to upload the large camera original.

If you want to backup your original images, don't enable the rescaling option in jAlbum instant.

This first public release is just a beta, so don't be too hard on it. We'd love some help with testing or to get a few hints of any new functions you would like to see.
