There are many ways to connect with a fellow Jalbumer: the Jalbum forum, a user profile guestbook, an album comment, widget comment, a skin comment and… a personal message!
The personal message is a powerful feature and the only form of communication where you may send private messages without broadcasting your voice to the rest of the community. We have made following the message conversation much easier with the new site release. All your messages in a conversation are threaded into one conversation page.
This is the first step in creating a more flexible private messaging platform. In a near future we will also engage in developing multi-user conversations to allow groups of users to participate in a discussion around a subject. We believe this will be useful when you need to have a separate discussion with an album creator or skin developer with questions on album customization or individual image compositions.
Every user in the community has a “send message” button on their profile page. This is the most convenient way to send a message to a receiver. But, you also have a kind of secret address book. All the people that are listed on your Follow page are listed in this book. When you write a new message from the messages pages, this will come in handy. Start writing the name of a user and the website offer to auto complete the name if it is someone you are following.
