This Jalbum release is the first for years to contain a new default skin. The old classic skin Chameleon has had to give way for another animal, the Turtle! The Turtle skin comes from the same talented author that brought us Chameleon and the recently talked about Compact skin – Laza, so you can expect a lot. The Turtle skin makes use of brand new API features of Jalbum 8.7 so it requires Jalbum 8.7 to run.
Looks great
Here is why I just love the Turtle skin: It simply looks and feels fantastic! With Turtle your images are really in focus. Navigation buttons and information panels are revealed in an elegant way when you need them. Viewers wanting to know more about your images can bring up captions, camera information and GPS location, (you naturally decide what to reveal). Turtle even integrates with Google Maps! If viewers want, Turtle can scale images to fit the browser window and they can navigate the album using the keyboard too.
Splash screen
When first viewing a Turtle album, you are welcomed by a large image picked from the album to represent that album folder. Sub-albums and thumbnails are stacked underneath. This makes for a very welcoming feel.
Multimedia support
Drag and drop video and mp3 audio files onto Jalbum and Turtle will play videos and music in the background. Picking the right sound for your album presentation can really enhance the album experience. Viewers that don't like it can mute the sound.
Customizeable styles
Turtle comes with six customizeable styles. Pick a style that closes matches what you want, then bring up Turtle's settings panel to fine tune colors to match your site.
Sell images
If you wish to sell your images, there is an integrated PayPal driven shopping cart. Just enter your PayPal address and set up the "products" you wish to offer and PayPal will handle the orders for you.
So what are you waiting for? Get Jalbum 8.7 and give Turtle skin a spin! As always we're eager to hear what you think! Jalbum 8.7 has some other additions you might like too. It's all in the release notes
