He began exhibiting his work at the University of Illinois with an exhibit of rock bands (he was REO Speedwagon’s first photographer). He commanded the advertising and public relations market in downstate Illinois for many years, serving an impressive list of client companies. He was ranked among the world’s top 1000 media photographers and is a past-president of ASMP, American Society of Media Photographers, Chicago Chapter(1978-79). He taught many photography workshops and authored The Composition Course, Exercises in Visual Reorientation. He was editor-publisher of "Freelance Photographer" magazine.
