Min. Jalbum version

* Gromit is a skin that produces clean, simple web pages that are responsive to the size of the viewport.
* Customization options include control over page layout (caption positioning, thumbnail spacing, and so on), borders, caption content, font attributes, and colors.
* Albums may include self-hosted videos, YouTube videos, Vimeo videos, and audio files.
* Support for Google fonts and WOFF files.
* Support for Google maps, if images are geotagged.
* Extensive support for metadata display.
* Support for providing links to external sites.
* Albums may include an information page that includes descriptive text, a small image, and an email contact link.
* Navigation tooltip texts may be specified in any language.
* Allows the user to insert a favicon link, a copyright notice, a meta description, a meta robots tag, and Google Analytics code.
* CSS and HTML code may be inserted into the finished albums via entries in the user interface.
* The skin produces valid HTML5/CSS3: it supports all current browsers.
* The skin produces separate slide pages, which is more SEO-friendly than pages that use dynamic routines to display the images.

43.0.0 23 apr 2017 (senaste)

* The skin now optionally supports basic swipes on touch-capable devices - see the Gromit > Misc tab. Swiping left/right on an index (thumbnail) page moves to the next/previous index page if there is one. Swiping left/right on a slide page moves to the next/previous slide page. Swiping right on an info page returns to the index page. Swiping right on a map page returns to the slide page. On a map page, a longer duration finger drag moves the map rather than triggering a swipe event.
* The operation of image responsiveness (not full responsiveness) on the slide pages has been changed. Formerly, it made the image small enough so that the site visitor could see the entire image within the viewport, though he might have to scroll up or down to position the image so that it was all visible. No other material on the page was taken into account. Now, it makes the image small enough so that the entire image and all of the material above it on the page - page title, breadcrumbs, thumbstrip, caption above slide, etc. - is all visible. If there is material below the image - caption, thumbstrip - the visitor may have to scroll to view it. This mode is best suited to albums that have a lot of text below the slide images - long captions, metadata, etc.
* Option, when using full slide page responsiveness and a slide page thumbstrip, to display the thumbstrip on larger displays - most tablets, and virtually all laptops and desktop monitors (unless the browser window is made very small) - but hide the thumbstrip on smaller displays, like smartphones.
* Option, when choosing responsiveness on the index (thumbnail) page, for the skin to restyle the thumbnail layout on small displays, eliminating the shadows and reducing the spacing between thumbnails.
* The skin is now selective about which files to include in the output res directory, including only those files that might be needed to display the album. You can reduce the number of files further by turning off unneeded options - for example, setting the overlay positions to "none" on the Overlays tab for any overlays that you either don't want, or won't be using, will eliminate a number of files from the output.
* Option to provide your own text for the credits link on the index pages.
* Coding included to disable the unwanted download icon on the video control bar in the Chrome browser (version 58 or higher).
* Old project correction code restored. You can now open a Gromit project created with any prior version of the skin, and the skin will do its best to account for changes since that version. If you have difficulty getting an older project to look the way you want it to in the latest version, please post a question in the jAlbum forums, and I'll help you sort it out.
* A small change to cure one problem with displaying body background images in Chrome on an Android device. The same change also corrects the display of a video in Firefox on an Android device in portrait mode.
* A small correction to the on-image navigation.
* A fix for a bug that sometimes produced improperly encoded alt attributes on images, and for a fringe case in which the wrong title thumbnail attribute might occur.
* There are still some unsolved problems with using auto-sized background images or color gradients in Chrome for Android, visible both when scrolling down on the thumbnail page, and on the slide page if your page layout results in a need for vertical and/or horizontal scrolling (non-responsive layout or side caption on slide pages). These problems result from a glaring browser bug, rather than from anything in the skin coding. I'm considering various possible workarounds, but none of them is really satisfactory.

ROBERT M WORTH JR 5 månader sedan Works better than the other one I was having difficulty with because of the number of folders I have. It took many hours to determine how best to lay out those folders so that the expected results were achieved. Originally, they were stacked three deep and through trial and error, discovered the best way was to keep them the way they are now. Fewer clicks for those viewing this large album is one of the goals I was attempting to achieve. Your Gromit skin achieved this major attribute. Thank you for your creative genius. I also liked Matrix though I was having difficulty with some of the attributes. No big deal, however as I plan on using it for some other albums I'll be putting together.

I've just tried this skin and I'm immediately impressed. It was the only one of a few that I tested that produced error free W3C HTML 5. Lots of custom options and works well on PC and tablet. I like that in your comments input that a line break is recognised and I no longer need to use the line break 'br' tag. If only all albums are like this! Changing skins may mean that I would have to either add or delete the 'br' tag. Otherwise I'd get a double line break on none at all. This is where for consistency , it ought to be common for all skins. For this to happen it would need to be part of the jAlbum interface. Proper text editor input for bold and italics and spell checker thrown in would be nice too. Not your remit I know, but for David Ekholm and team.

Good lad Gromit. :-) Thanks to the custom option, I've managed to get my web site looking as I wanted it. The "Custom | Background Image" option is a small transparent PNG which allows the main page background to show through.

where can I find gromit skin for jalbum 11?

jGromit 2 år sedan

On the left side of this page, click "Show All," and scroll down. Gromit version 11.0.0 is the last one that's compatible with jAlbum 11. You won't get any of the newer features, however, including responsiveness - I strongly suggest you upgrade to jAlbum 12.
