Bug Fixes:
- In Firefox 7, Windows Media Player did not play videos.
- In Internet Explorer, QuickTime video variants did not have a control bar.

Enhancements:
- Compatible with jAlbum 9.6 (some thumbnail icons were wrong).
- jAlbum 9.6 supports Windows shortcuts, so you don't need to edit "filetypes.xml".

Bug Fixes:
- In Internet Explorer, a video's aspect ratio was sometimes wrong.
- The index page footer was sometimes pushed to the right.
- Line breaks in the index page footer were ignored.
- A multi-line slide page title caused the page numbers (e.g. "4 of 12") to shift down.
- Some minor formatting corrections.

Bug fix:
- In Internet Explorer, a thumbnail that linked to a web page or another album was not clickable (since 5.12).

Enhancements:
- PDF variants are embedded. Previously they opened in a separate tab or window.
- Variant thumbnails can be larger.

Bug fixes:
- There was an extra border around YouTube videos.
- In postcard mode, there was a gap inside the border around a PDF file, and the PDF file was not centred.

Enhancement:
- Compatible with Linux.

Bug fixes:
- When an album was generated on a Mac or Linux, image paths were sometimes absolute instead of relative. This caused images to not appear when the album was published.
- Thumbnail captions were not centred if the maximum thumbnail width was less than the folder icon width.
- A missing variant thumbnail image caused a Java exception.
- Variant images were sometimes too large (since 5.9).
- Filters were not applied to variant images.
- If you edited the settings of an unsupported file, a Java exception occurred.
- If slide pages were not requested, some unneeded files were sometimes copied to the output directory.
- The French manual could not be downloaded.
- The album generation time in the system console is more accurate. Previously, the clock continued to run while you were reviewing the error messages.

Limitations:
- Some videos do not play in Linux. This will be fixed in a future release.

Enhancements:
- Compatible with Opera.
- A new setting allows SWF files to loop.
- More informative error messages, if a video cannot play.

Bug fixes:
- On some computers, Windows Media Player could not play videos.
- An SWF, MOV or MP4 video on a different drive did not play.
- On a slide page containing a superimposed image and a video variant, the superimposed image may disappear.

Enhancements:
- Compatible with Google Chrome (previously, some types of video did not play).
- You can use the keyboard to navigate through an album.
- An image's caption may be populated from its IPTC title.
- Each album object's settings show the type of object (e.g. image, video) and its caption.
- A page of variants does not have to contain an image (it could just contain videos).
- FLV videos are played by FlowPlayer 3.1.5 or later. Previously, FlowPlayer 2.2.4 was required, but this version is no longer available.
- Superimposed images can be resized (you can specify the dimensions in the image settings).
- A new album setting suppresses the "for sale" icons on the index pages.
- 2 new styles (Sea Green, Willow). Improved email icons.

Bug fixes:
- A video did not always play, if it was linked or "link to originals" was chosen.
- A variant video did not play if its filename extension was in upper case.
- In the Jalbum window, arrow keys did not work.
- If right-clicking was enabled, a child album could not return to its master album.

Bug fix:
In Jalbum 8.9, if you add an image to an album, its thumbnail may not appear in the Jalbum window.

Enhancements:
- Each video variant is embedded in its slide page, instead of opening in a separate window.
- On index pages, you can change each button's label and its target URL. Previously, these were fixed (e.g. "Home", "Contact").
- Instead of index page buttons, a menu bar can be chosen.
- In the Mirage settings, the file chooser shows image thumbnails (if they are available). This makes it easier to choose a thumbnail or header image.
- A "new" icon can be attached to any index page thumbnail. Previously, this just worked for images.
- New styles (Charcoal Lilac, Charcoal Peach, Charcoal Rose, Chocolate, Olive, Orchid, Plum). New improved Canvas styles. Minor improvements to existing styles.
- Some styles have a white widget bar.
- Style file names no longer contain spaces. This may improve operating system compatibility.

Bug fixes:
- When viewing a local album, Firefox could not play embedded MOV or MP4 videos.
- Safari could not play a variant WMV video.
- For videos, the "new window" setting has been removed (this was not used).
- If an album contained a link to a YouTube shortcut (instead of the actual shortcut), this caused a Java error.

Enhancements:
- Compatible with Internet Explorer 8.
- An album can contain links to YouTube videos. These can easily be added, by dragging shortcuts from YouTube into the image directory. Each video is embedded in a slide page, and is streamed from YouTube. Details are in Mirage.pdf, section 7.6.
- New option: If an image has no title, either the file name or nothing can be shown. Variant labels such as "MyFile_3_" are never shown.
- Improved error handling when a project is opened.
- Unused output files are deleted.
- New style "Lilac Canvas", and minor improvements to existing styles.
- Drive identifiers longer than 1 character are supported.
- Prepared for online use.

Bug fixes:
- In Internet Explorer 8, slide pages contained thin vertical lines.
- If a folder thumbnail was a linked file, no thumbnail was shown.
- Comments were not shown for linked variants.
- If an album contained variants, "make album - changes" was slow.
- A shortcut's thumbnail was sometimes too far to the left.
- When a linked album was viewed across a network, the button that returned to the master album did not work.
- A Java error "Can't read input file" could occur, very infrequently.
- In the settings, both variant thumbnail dimensions had to be entered. Now you can enter one or both of these.
- In Firefox, there was a thin gap below QuickTime videos.
