PasteURL.png

If the album does not have a jalbum-settings.jap, it wont be possible to import the settings and you will get a pop up telling you that the file is missing.

Option 3. Import default settings

ImportSettingsDefault.png

Imports the settings from the defaults.jap file stored in the configuration folder (SHIFT + CMD/Cntrl + C). This will be jAlbum defaults* unless you have at sometime performed a 'File/Save as default' to create your own default set in which case it will additionally import the project settings including the skin settings in use at that time.

  • jAlbum defaults are the preference settings, you can find the default settings here

Note on importing settings

Settings that are unique to a project are not imported, for example the project directory, the album directory, the remote (published) location and the version information of the application itself.

When importing settings from a published album that not all of those skin settings may be imported. The settings not to be imported are defined by the skin developer and is to avoid things like getting someone else's Google Analytics code, or a settings that just won't work. An example of the latter: in Gromit, you can have background image files, they're not album objects. The skin has settings for the paths to the original versions of those files, but if you're importing from another project or even someone else's project, those paths would be wrong. If you want to know which skin settings will not be imported open the skin's folder (SHIFT + CMD/Cntrl + S) and then open the skin.properties file in a text editor. Look for a line starting with preventCopy=.

DO NOT attempt to edit this file!
