If you choose to use this beta-version, please help with the following:

- if you encounter problems not listed under "known issues" please let me know what you did to reproduce them
  • if you have a certain video that doesn't work, please let me know where I can download it so I can test it on my computer

Thanks!

Dear Halligang,

I found some links to the clips

For the MJPEG as produced by the Ricoh RDC-7 from Steve's Digicams - http://www.steves-digicams.com/rdc7_samples.html

http://www.steves-digicams.com/rdc7/samples/R0010122.AVI
http://www.steves-digicams.com/rdc7/samples/R0010145.AVI

For the Sanyo Xacti C5 (640x480 mp4-aac stereo) - sourced from http://blog.deeje.tv/musings/2005/09/media_sample_fo.html

http://homepage.mac.com/deeje/video/dryice.mp4
http://homepage.mac.com/deeje/video/indoor.mov - This is probably a converted file
http://homepage.mac.com/deeje/video/outdoor.mov - This is probably a converted file

For the Sanyo Xacti HD1 (1280x720 mp4-aac stereo)

http://images.akihabaranews.com/news_pics/10951/SANY0001.MP4

I hope you will be able to get these to work.

Thanks.

david,

r0010122.avi and r0010145.avi played fine in my Quicktime Player, but not in my WMP.

The mp4 and mov videos played fine in Quicktime Player.

I've updated the capture process as well as a choice to open avi-files in either Quicktime or WMP.

Please try the new version and let me know how it works for you!

Thanks.

halligang,

My feedback of v1.0.2 BETA 2006-08-03

Filter/Select : "Done" button is not completely visible (is this the old 90 vs 120dpi Window Setting issue?!).

mpg & wmv : Played then paused. Image did not then change when moved via the scroll bar or the arrow buttons. Had to press play again. Captured OK.

mov : Played OK, could scroll through. However, scrollbar does NOT move when the buttons are used to increment back/through the movie. Also, Capture gave the THM creator window itself, though by playing and pausing, I could get the Capture to show the image correctly.

avi : Asked to open in WMP or QT (usage seems the same, slightly different image size. Why this choice?). In both modes, played OK, could scroll through. However, scrollbar does NOT move when the buttons are used to increment back/through the movie. Captured OK.

mp4 : Played OK, could scroll through. However, scrollbar does NOT move when the buttons are used to increment back/through the movie. Captured OK. Filter/Select : "Done" button is not completely visible (is this the old 90 vs 120dpi Window Setting issue?!).

I was able to capture when I chose quicktime for the avi files. Of interest is that if I choose 1 thumbnail, then change to 2x2, I can overlay the smaller thumbnail over the first big thumbnail at the quadrant of my choice. I think this is great for flexibility if I want to make a special thumbnail.

It crashes if I choose wmp. If I start with 2x2 in qt then it crashes. I attached the error message.

Just added some Quicktime files to my album, used BETA 1.0.2 to create the thumbnails - and have to say: "great work!"

A very useful tool.

thanks, Kay
