Here's Tiger 1.4.2 that works with jAlbum 14.2. I don't want to release it until 14.2 comes out officially.

New:

  • 360 player has auto-pano, zoom and fullscreen functions
  • Option to disable the 360 player even if image holds the "projectionType=equiRectangular" attribute
Would that be under Tiger/Lightbox/Main Image/Use 360ยบ player?

Indeed it does. Don't think I've seen that discussed anywhere. If you start from the root, there's no problem entering a folder, but you can't start in a folder.

I have been surprised that no one has yet asked, maybe once people start adding subfolders to Tiger albums it will surface as a question.

Thanks for spotting! Here's a fix for that (attached)

Java note: It's this kind of errors I've seen relating to Netbeans automated code refactoring. There may be more of this kind lurking around. This specific refactoring tries to use more specific classes when catching errors instead of the wide Exception class. However, they then miss the fact that the wide Exception catch also catches unchecked RuntimeExceptions like NullPointerException and such.

This is why I'm still running Netbeans over Java 1.8u152. I don't think Netbeans is quite ready for Java 9. Even their own documentation says that they're going to wait for things to "settle" a bit.

Worth repeating I think.
"Sidenote: jAlbum 14.2 has further preparation for Java 9. This unfortunately causes it to consider album projects changed so the first time you move to jAlbum 14.2 it will want to reprocess your images, but after that, it should be as clever as before to determine if images needs to be reprocessed or not. Moving on from now, it's less likely that we will see this unnecessary reprocessing happening again."

I am not experiencing that. It's not reprocessing the images, even in projects that were last built several versions ago.

Well, Java is all done with smoke and mirrors, maybe others will not be so lucky or further changes in the last three weeks have ameliorated it :)

The Tiger skin in the JAlbum application tells you
A Google API key is required if you have more than 25,000 map views per day is required if you have more than 25,000 map views per day

but that is rather old information
To day you need a Google API key and gives you 25,000 map views per day
if you have above this amount of visits you have to pay

(over 25000 visits daily on a free key the map shots down until next day)

https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key

Note: if the images are uploaded to Google maps on the same GPS position
the Yelow G-man will show you around when you click on him :-)

Tips: custom link in the footer
make a iOS direct link in the footer if you want to embed the album on your site or Blog
to make it run 0n an iPad or iPhone

Some of the translation files are out of date. The English version is correct. It says, "Please note, as of 06/2016 the map will only work if you provide the API key."

Thanks
Please note, as of 06/2016 the map will only work if you provide the API key.
Local preview won't work either, only on the uploaded site.

Partly correct :-)

Mozilla Firefox can display the map Offline if the API key are provided

in Googles own browser Error you get the right information :-)

Error
Local access to the album's database file is blocked by your browser. This will
not affect the uploaded album! Use jAlbum's built-in browser or FireFox for
testing, or read here how to test albums in other browsers!

That has nothing to do with the API key. Please read Laza's link about local preview of a Tiger album. It applies no matter what options you are using.

@Laca Molnar Thank You for your work

One important thing is that several new 360 cameras do not have GPS connection via the Smart Phone like the Ricoh THETA cameras

A suggestion are therefore an inbuilt Map Function where the GPS info can be written into the image file like you do in Google Picasa and Pano 2VR5.2

simply by Search and drag and drop

The photo quality are actuarily mush better in this new cheap Chinese 360 cameras
with nearly no CA and purple fringe

Next step are maybe to have a 360 editor inbuild like the one in Affinity Photo
