As an example, I have this code in the common.css file:
<ja:else>
.thumbs .box {
	vertical-align: top; /*  was middle;  */
	margin-right: ${thumbMarginH}px;
	margin-left: ${thumbMarginH}px;
	margin-top: ${thumbMarginV}px;
	margin-bottom: ${thumbMarginV}px;
/*	display: -moz-inline-box;
	-moz-box-orient: vertical;     */
	display: inline-block;
  	/** zoom:1;  **/
}
The colors of this code are displayed in the attached screenshot.

Why is the first thumbMarginH string black and the second thumbMarginH string blue?
Why is margin-right: blue and margin-left: green?

I’d guess that it is because of the jAlbum tags. The file is CSS, so the highlighting will be based on CSS code. Tags like <ja:else> Will throw the highlighting out of whack.

Yes, but I can’t detect the recipe of the color changes.
What are the rules, which determines the colors?
The current colors are for me not understandable, so can I switch of the colors?

Edit:
Dreamweaver, see attached screenshot, shows a simular strange color change!

Syntax rules are usually a list of keywords, for jAlbum’s editor see the source code at:
https://code.google.com/archive/p/jalbum-jtextpad/source/default/source
It uses import org.fife.ui.rsyntaxtextarea.SyntaxConstants
Presumably you could supply your own syntax file for all file types used in a skin’s source code.

As it stands I don’t think there is a way of turning off highlighting, it might just be best to ignore it.
