Maps in Tiger skin: some help wanted

Hi,

I'm trying to get a map in a Tiger skin on this album:

http://kjeldebu.jalbum.net/Copenhagen%20-%20Lübeck%202017/

Working with Mac, so exported files from Photos, Locations have been set in Photos.

jAlbum 14.1.10

I must be missing something out.

Went to Google to create an API key. Copy/Pasted it in Settings -> Tiger -> Sections -> Map
Also ticked the check box "Show Map Section"

Are there any steps I haven't done to get it working.

I wasn't sure the GPS data is in the files, because I don't see it in when I choose "list metadata". See here:

If I export an image that has GPS data embedded, from an iPad for example, or one that has had the location set in Photos the exported image has the location metadata. In jAlbum the metadata is seen as below.
Gps.GPS Altitude=48 metres
Gps.GPS Altitude Ref=Sea level
Gps.GPS Dest Bearing=161.45 degrees
Gps.GPS Dest Bearing Ref=True direction
Gps.GPS Img Direction=161.45 degrees
Gps.GPS Img Direction Ref=True direction
Gps.GPS Latitude=53°…
For tagged images only the latitude & longitude is included.

For images exported without location information, as expected Preview shows no location. The question then is how was the GPS location information added to the images? Can you attach one here?

In Photos the export window looks like the attached.
Mac OS 10.12.6
Photos 2.0
jAlbum 14.1.13 (beta via core update tool).

I added the locations manually in Photos, as my camera hasn't got a GPS module.

Here's:
  • a photo attached
  • inspector window for EXIF
  • inspector windor for GPS

It seems to be linked to photos. I have Version 1.5 (370.42.0). I have checked the "Include location information for published items" under Preferences in Photos, but don't think this is the issue.

Side question: should the map appear if i have the GPS data in the EXIF?

Thanks

Jonathan

No problem with the GPS metadata in that image - jAlbum can see it, and Tiger can show the map. Two screenshots, one from the thumbnail page, the second the popup from the slide image button.

If you're still not seeing the maps in your album, please attach your project file - jalbum-settings.jap. You might be missing some piece of the puzzle.

And here's what jAlbum displays for List metadata - all exactly what it should be.

Two things missing.

First, you haven't entered a Google Maps API Key - see ss003270. This is needed both for the thumbnail page map, and the slide page maps.

For the slide images, you haven't checked the box to display a button to a map - see ss003271.

Something must have gone wrong with the first export, I don't see the GPS data in list metadata. I have reimported the photo, and now I do see the gps in the "list metadata".

Will try to reimport my photos to see if the maps will work. But that's for tomorrow....got to run.

Thanks for the help till now!

See http://jalbum.net/help/en/Geotagging for information on jAlbum's location pane. There are two sources of GPS data that can be read:
xmp.exif:GPSLatitude, xmp.exif:GPSLongitude and Gps.GPS Latitude, Gps.GPS Longitude.
