Every time I place new photos on jAlbum the pictures do not occur on mobile android. This is also the case with a new folder. This problem does most likely also appear when using a tablet. On the computer / laptop the fotos and folder are visible. I have tried different skins but the problem was not solved.
Can somebody help me?
Browsers on Android are very stubborn about retaining their cached versions of a website. Sometimes, you really have to beat them about the head to get them to refresh. In Chrome on Android, for example, you need to select Menu > Settings > Privacy > Clear browing data.
There's really nothing jAlbum or any skin can do about this.
If you use our Android app to view the album you need to reload the album by draggning down the thumbnail view until you get the reload symbol.
But as EarlyOut says, a URL and a screenshot would take us out from the guesswork...
villagefotos is the account
the new folder is "nieuwe foto's"
In this folder all the foto's are not available on mobile
Example for new foto
New foto "Como" and new foto ""dorpje langs het Comomeer" in the folder Landschappen / Italie are not avialable on mobile
The file album.rss in each folder is used for the mobile view of the album and for the apps (iOS and Android). And album.rss on your album is either older the the content, or non existing.
Have you switched off Settings->Advanced->Metadata->Generate Media RSS feed?
I suspect I know what's happening, here. When someone visits with a mobile device, they get the special "mobile" version of the album. But that is absolutely dependent upon the existence of a media RSS file.
So, you must either turn off the mobile version, or make sure that you're providing a media RSS file.
To turn off the mobile version, which will then just let the skin show the album, go to your profile page, edit the entry for this album, and check Disable the automatic mobile version for this album. But remember that if the skin isn't responsive, it might not display very well on a mobile device.
Or, to make sure you are providing a media RSS file, in the desktop application, go to Settings > Advanced > Metadata, check Generate Media RSS feed, make the album again, and upload it again.
In my opinion this is not the problem
OK, then what do you think the problem is?
Edit: And it would appear that both Anders and I have observed the same thing - your album.rss files are not up-to-date. Are you saying that we're both wrong? And if you have a better answer, why are you posting your question here?
